I am seeking a highly skilled and experienced HEOR Statistician specialising in Indirect Treatment Comparisons (ITCs) to join my client, a global CRO. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in statistics, health economics and outcomes research (HEOR), and expertise in conducting rigorous ITC analyses to support evidence-based decision-making in healthcare.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design, execution, and interpretation of ITC analyses to compare the effectiveness and safety of healthcare interventions, utilizing advanced statistical methods and modeling techniques
  • Conduct comprehensive literature reviews to identify relevant studies and collect necessary data for ITCs
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to obtain access to data sources and ensure data quality and integrity
  • Apply advanced statistical methodologies, such as network meta-analysis (NMA) and Bayesian hierarchical models, to synthesize evidence from diverse sources and generate robust comparative effectiveness estimates.
  • Develop and validate statistical models to account for heterogeneity and uncertainty in ITCs
  • Interpret ITC results and communicate findings effectively to internal teams, clients, and regulatory authorities through written reports, presentations, and scientific publications
  • Provide clear explanations of statistical methodologies, assumptions, and limitations to facilitate informed decision-making
  • Ensure adherence to relevant regulatory guidelines, industry standards, and best practices in conducting ITC analyses
  • Implement rigorous quality control procedures to validate analytical results and maintain data integrity throughout the project lifecycle
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including health economists, clinicians, market access specialists, and decision-makers, to integrate ITC findings into health economic models, reimbursement dossiers, and strategic planning activities.
  • Provide methodological guidance and support to colleagues on statistical issues related to HEOR studies.
  • Stay abreast of latest developments in statistical methods, health economics, and HEOR methodologies relevant to ITCs

Requirements

  • Proficiency in statistical software packages such as R, SAS, or STATA, and experience with specialized tools for conducting network meta-analysis (e.g., WinBUGS, JAGS, or OpenBUGS).
  • Strong understanding of statistical principles, study design, and data analysis techniques relevant to comparative effectiveness research and systematic reviews/meta-analyses.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex statistical concepts into clear and actionable insights for diverse audiences.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing multiple projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines, and delivering high-quality work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaborate effectively within interdisciplinary teams to achieve project objectives.
  • Experience in conducting indirect treatment comparisons within the context of health technology assessment (HTA) submissions, reimbursement evaluations, and health economic modeling.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and guidelines governing HEOR studies, such as those issued by NICE, FDA, EMA, and ISPOR.
