Full Job Description
We are looking for a Gaming Community Manager to define and develop our community-building initiatives and act as a liaison between our organization and the target audience. We are looking for someone who has worked in gaming, creates their own content and has experience cultivating a community.
This position involves close collaboration with the game development team and subject matter experts from the gaming industry. You will build, lead, and scale the brand’s outreach programs by monitoring audience behavior and initiating active engagements. You will also assist the marketing/communications team with drafting articles, newsletters, press statements, social media posts, and other communications materials.
Our ideal candidate is passionate about gaming with prior experience in community management. You should have excellent leadership and interpersonal skills to lead and direct a team of communications professionals. You must be highly observant to analyze and report community activity, and be highly creative to craft engaging narratives and incentives that will help us establish, grow, and maintain a large player base. Strong knowledge of social media is a must to manage and lead community engagements. Experience in Product Marketing is a plus.
This job offers flexibility with fully remote options across the United States or a hybrid setup based at our Burbank, California office.
Role and Responsibilities
- Research, plan and implement community-building programs and segmentation strategies to improve social media presence and create a large following
- Perform research on current benchmark trends and audience preferences, analyze emerging trends by monitoring interactions on gaming communities and conducting surveys to gather consumer data
- Organize digital events, giveaways, and tournaments in online gaming communities to achieve product marketing goals
- Establish networking opportunities by identifying and fostering strong relations with influential gamers and SMEs
- Manage social community engagements by responding to inquiries and analyzing player feedback
- Assist in drafting compelling communications materials like press releases, social media posts, and articles (how-to, guides, tips & tricks, etc.) to inform and engage gaming enthusiasts
- Plan podcasts, live streams, and Q&A sessions
- Monitor community building performance and engagement rate
- Measure and provide reports that support the success of every community campaign
- Stay up to date with the latest community manager best practices and technologies
- Perform other relevant duties as needed.
Requirements
- Minimum 3+ years of experience as a Community Manager or in a similar position
- Must be an passionate about gaming
- Has a thorough understanding of social media trends and analytics
- Solid experience with community-building programs and initiatives
- Experience creating content, interacting on various social media platforms, and adapting to the established voice - especially for Discord, Twitch, Tiktok, YouTube, and X (formerly Twitter)
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- A problem-solving mindset with excellent written and verbal skills
- Solid grasp of game development, technologies, and trends
- Prior experience in public relations or marketing is a plus
Physical Demands

Additional Information:
The base salary range for a full-time position in Burbank, CA is $70,000-$85,000 + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Our team can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.
