POSITION TYPE: Full-time
LOCATION: Remote
COMPENSATION: This position is a full-time salaried position with a salary range of $165,000-$200,000 and COLA adjustment.

About Movement Labs
Movement Labs is dedicated to stopping the far right and saving democracy. We bring new thinking to the most challenging problems in the political ecosystem and rigorously test our ideas.
The Chief Operating Officer will reinforce an ambitious and accountable organizational culture, effective team management, and project planning. They will also lead on organizational finance and overall people operations.
The successful candidate has leadership experience in a growing tech or consulting firm in the political, civic or social sectors, including experience managing managers, and has strong experience with financial and HR management.
Responsibilities
Leadership & Management (50%):
- Acting as chief problem-solver to the CEO and VP team
- Working with the CEO to vet possible growth areas, and drive some forward
- Supporting team-wide & leadership meeting and strategic planning
- Reinforcing our values as a coherent organizational culture
Finance (25%):
- With support staff be a strategic leader guiding bookkeeping, cost and revenue projections, department budgeting, and margin management of our core business
- Supporting the fundraising team in increasing velocity and systematization of fundraising
People Operations (25%):
- Increase team effectiveness by working closely as a people-focused partner to leadership team
- Lead recruitment, identifying new roles and help facilitate horizontal movement
- Oversee a people team managing hiring, training, culture, benefits, and HR functions
- Oversee staff conflict, mediation, performance improvement processes
Requirements
- Fast-paced, exceptional intelligence
- Comfort with risk
- Significant political campaign or advocacy experience
- Leadership experience in a growing tech or consulting firm, ideally touching political, social or civic work
- Experience managing managers
- Experience with financial and HR management
- Highly quantitative mindset
Nice to haves:
- Experience working in strategy consulting, marketing or SMS
- Experience with management training or coaching
- Experience with political or 501(c)(4) fundraising
- Bay area modestly preferred
Benefits
Annual salary of $165,000 - 200,000 with COLA adjustments.
