Full Job Description
As a Business Development Representative for ValGenesis, you will be the first to interact with prospects. Your mission is to engage with them over the phone and email to deliver answers, information, and ideas on how they can use ValGenesis products within their organization and then prepare those prospects for their first engagement with sales.
*Please note that this position is remote and will cover the West Coast (USA) territory (you will be expected to work PST hours)*
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Account Executives to strategize lead-generation activities in alignment with BDR/Sales targets. Put together a plan for execution to attain BDR goals
- Follow up in a timely fashion with inbound leads. Answer questions and determine the prospects' interest and ability to move forward with a sales engagement
- Conduct outbound cold outreach to target accounts (agreed with AEs)
- Effectively communicate with prospects (inbound and outbound) demonstrating strong industry knowledge and value of VG product offerings – through a mix of email, phone, and social media channels
- Effectively qualify prospects to generate a target number of quality SQLs per month
- Nurture prospects along the journey from MQL to SQL
- Regular communication and feedback to and from Sales Executives
- Participate in ongoing training to stay up to date with industry trends and ValGenesis products and solutions
- Help drive the messaging and approach to lead generation in collaboration with sales and marketing
- Attend tradeshows/events as a ValGenesis representative
- Participation in regional/global sales meetings
Requirements
- 2-5 years experience in a business development role where the majority of the work was spent speaking with customers, prospects, or partners via phone
- Experience with and understanding of the Life Science industry – specifically Validation.
- Experience with Software Selling
- Proven track record of meeting targets
- Team player
- Enthusiasm for talking to people and helping them identify solutions that improve their daily professional lives (ie: helping to digitize and streamline efforts).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills focused on value-based selling
- Operate proactively and as a self-starter
- Possess a strong work ethic including but not limited to staying organized, following processes, and having strong time management abilities
- Ability to travel 5 – 15% of the time for conferences to manage company exhibit/booth
