Full Job Description
Walnut Way Conservation Corp. is looking for a committed and experienced Bus Driver to join our team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for the safe transportation of community members to various events and initiatives, helping us fulfill our mission of service and outreach.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to safety, excellent driving skills, and the ability to represent our organization positively while interacting with the community. Your role is crucial in ensuring that transportation runs smoothly and effectively for all participants.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Operate a company bus safely, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Provide reliable and prompt transportation for community members to designated locations.
- Conduct pre-trip inspections to ensure the bus is in safe operating condition.
- Assist passengers with boarding and disembarking, ensuring their safety at all times.
- Maintain accurate records of routes, mileage, and any incidents or delays.
- Communicate effectively with the transportation coordinator to update schedules and resolve issues.
- Provide excellent customer service, fostering a welcoming environment for all passengers.
- Report any mechanical issues or maintenance needs of the bus promptly.
- Participate in safety training and adhere to company policies regarding transportation and passenger safety.

Requirements
- Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with passenger endorsement and a clean driving record.
- Proven experience as a bus driver or in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of traffic laws and safety regulations related to bus operations.
- Ability to navigate routes effectively using GPS and other tools.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to adhere to schedules.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage positively with passengers.
- Ability to assist passengers with special needs as required.
- Familiarity with bus maintenance and inspection procedures is a plus.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
