Due to continued expansion, we have created a new position for a BSA/AML Compliance Officer to join our compliance team based in the US.
Responsibilities
BSA/AML Program Management:
- Develop, implement, and update TransferMate's BSA/AML compliance program, policies, and procedures.
- Ensure the program meets all regulatory requirements and guidelines issued by the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN), the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), and other relevant bodies.
Monitoring and Reporting:
- Oversee the monitoring of transactions for suspicious activity, including the use of software and tools to detect money laundering and terrorist financing activities.
- Ensure timely filing of Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs), Currency Transaction Reports (CTRs), and other required filings with regulatory agencies.
- Maintain records and documentation of BSA/AML activities and reports.
- Monitoring regulatory developments and changes in the legal and compliance landscape
Risk Assessment and Management:
- Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential BSA/AML risks within the organization.
- Develop and implement controls to mitigate identified risks.
- Review and approve high-risk customer accounts and transactions.
Training and Awareness:
- Develop and deliver BSA/AML training programs for employees, ensuring they understand their responsibilities and the importance of compliance.
- Keep the organization informed of changes in BSA/AML regulations and best practices.
Audit and Examination:
- Coordinate with internal and external auditors during BSA/AML audits and examinations.
- Address and remediate any findings or deficiencies identified in audits or regulatory examinations.
Collaboration:
- Work closely with other departments (e.g., Legal, Operations, Risk Management) to ensure compliance with BSA/AML requirements.
- Serve as a liaison between the organization and regulatory agencies on BSA/AML matters.
Customer Due Diligence (CDD) and Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD):
- Oversee the implementation of Customer Due Diligence (CDD) and Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) procedures.
- Review and approve onboarding and ongoing monitoring of high-risk customers.
Regulatory Reporting:
- Ensure the organization meets all BSA/AML regulatory reporting requirements.
- Prepare and present reports on the effectiveness of the BSA/AML program to senior management and the board of directors.
- Coordinate and oversee the submission of periodic and ad hoc regulatory reporting (call reports) submissions to State regulators.
Oversight and Management of US Compliance Operations
- Manage the application and maintenance of any necessary licenses or registrations across the company
- Regularly update and advise relevant legal and business functions, including the company’s executives on the status of ongoing compliance measures and any needs for compliance in view of proposed or future business strategies
- Serving as liaison between the company and regulatory agencies
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Law, or a related field.
- Advanced degrees (e.g., JD, MBA) or certifications (e.g., CAMS, CFE) are preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in BSA/AML compliance within a financial institution, including experience in managing compliance programs.
- In-depth knowledge of BSA/AML laws, regulations, and best practices.
- Familiarity with financial products, services, and transaction monitoring systems.
- Knowledge of sanctions programs, such as those administered by OFAC.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.
- Proficiency in compliance software and tools.

Annual salary - $80000 - $120000
