Full Job Description
High Alpha Innovation partners with the world’s leading organizations to innovate through startup creation. Part strategy consultancy, part venture studio, our team is a diverse mix of highly-experienced company builders, designers, and strategists who work with corporate and university partners to source, launch, and invest in venture studios and startups.
We are seeking an Independent Board Member for our newest company, Goldie Health. The Goldie Health platform will enable remote community health workers to treat patients, access protocols, best practices and manage ongoing engagement. Initial go-to-market in opioid use disorder (OUD) will support both community paramedics and peer support specialists serving their patients in the field. With Goldie Health, post-overdose response teams can help more patients break the OUD cycle. Breaking that cycle saves lives, rebuilds families, and improves our communities. Goldie transforms the work by automating manual documentation and tasks, producing evidence of results, supporting collaboration across counties and building more informed lessons about best practices.
Post OUD, the platform is designed to extend to Aging in Place, Remote Mental Health support, Remote infusions and a variety of other use cases being addressed by the growing body of distributed health workers. The right fit for this expansive role is someone who is passionate about the opioid crisis and has deep experience navigating healthcare/government policy.
The concept for Goldie Health was developed in partnership with the University North Carolina Chapel Hill’s Eshelman Institute for Innovation, as part of its long term vision to drive cutting edge technologies that solve the most pressing healthcare challenges. We also partnered closely with healthcare practitioners in the field supporting individuals with use disorders, including at Western North Carolina’s Mountain Area Health Education Center (MAHEC) and Buncombe County North Carolina’s Post-Overdose Response Team (PORT).
As an independent board member you’ll work closely with the founders and High Alpha Innovation teams, who have seen exponential growth across a variety of SaaS platforms in multiple industries.
As a key member of Goldie Health’s three person board, you will be expected to attend all board meetings, engage with the founders and other board directors and actively contribute and vote on important matters as needed. As the founders work to bring their product to market, you will use your network to make introductions to potential customers and investors and help to build conviction in the market. You will use your network and position in the market to support the founders with their go-to-market strategy and customer acquisition.
