About the Role
We are seeking a mid-level animator to create a series of 12 abstract animated backgrounds for an upcoming music project titled “Travel Light.” These animations can be designed in either 2D or 3D and should reflect a minimalistic aesthetic, drawing inspiration from artists like Mark Rothko. The visuals will subtly interact with the audio, serving as immersive mood lighting for streaming platforms to enhance the atmospheric experience of the album.
The music blends orchestral and rock influences, echoing the sounds of Pink Floyd, David Bowie, and Radiohead. We welcome creative input and are excited to collaborate with an animator who can help shape the visual identity of the project. This is a remote position, offering flexibility while working closely to realize the artistic vision.
Requirements
- Proven experience in 2D or 3D animation with a focus on abstract, minimalistic designs
- Ability to create audio-reactive or subtly interactive visual animations
- Strong creative vision and ability to align with artistic influences (e.g., Rothko, abstract expressionism)
- Familiarity with animation software (After Effects, Blender, Cinema 4D, or similar)
- Passion for music-based visual projects, with an understanding of mood and atmosphere in design
- Strong communication skills and openness to feedback
- Ability to deliver approximately 12 animations within project deadlines
- Availability for remote collaboration throughout the project duration
