About the Role

An individual robotics engineer is seeking a freelance animator for a personal project to create a short anime film. This project has the potential to evolve into a long-term anime series development. The ideal candidate will collaborate remotely to bring the client's vision to life, with a focus on creating wholesome content for the client's daughter. This opportunity is open to animators at various experience levels, from beginners to mid-level professionals.

Responsibilities:

1. Collaborate with the client to understand and develop the creative vision for the anime project
2. Create 2D animations that align with the project's style and narrative
3. Develop character designs and animations that appeal to a young audience
4. Implement storytelling techniques through animation to convey detailed narratives
5. Assist in storyboarding and visual development of scenes
6. Provide input on animation techniques that best suit the project's goals
7. Deliver high-quality animated sequences within agreed-upon deadlines
8. Revise and refine animations based on client feedback
9. Maintain consistent style and quality throughout the project
10. Participate in regular progress updates and discussions with the client

Requirements

1. Proficiency in 2D animation techniques and relevant software
2. Strong portfolio demonstrating anime-style animation skills
3. Good understanding of storytelling principles and ability to convey narratives through animation
4. Creativity and ability to bring characters and scenes to life
5. Experience in creating content suitable for children (preferred but not required)
6. Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with a non-animation professional
7. Self-motivation and ability to work independently in a remote setting
8. Adaptability to incorporate feedback and make revisions
