Job Title: Head of Human Resources

Job Purpose
The Head of Human Resources at DemandLab is a crucial role that involves leading the human resourcing function to develop, support, and execute all talent and human resourcing needs in alignment with DemandLab’s business and operations. Reporting directly to the Manager of Operations, this role encompasses a broad spectrum of human resources responsibilities, including talent acquisition, contractor management, employee engagement, employer branding, performance measurement, and the oversight of all HR personnel, initiatives, systems, and tactics.
Key Responsibilities
1. Talent and Human Resources Management:
· Support the Human Factor: Devise strategies for performance evaluation, staffing, training and development, and career advancement to support employees’ professional growth and success.
· Employee Lifecycle Management: Oversee the entire employee lifecycle from acquisition and onboarding through to offboarding.
· Talent Management Process: Design, implement, support, and optimize the talent management process, including the administration of the talent management system (Workable).
· Company Culture: Build, shape, and reinforce company culture through various people-related initiatives such as fostering healthy employee relations, structuring performance management, managing training and development, and implementing inclusive policies and workplace best practices.
2. Confidentiality and Compliance:
· Employee Information Security: Responsible for the security, confidentiality, maintenance, updates, and storage of employee information, including the administration of the HRIS (BambooHR) while adhering to privacy laws.
· Performance Goals: Assist managers in creating, scheduling, recording, and reporting on KPI goals and professional development plans to ensure the delivery team’s performance goals are achieved.
3. Continuous Improvement:
· Internal HR Processes: Create and improve internal HR processes to create greater efficiencies and support the needs of a global organization.
4. Additional Duties:
· Support Manager, Operations: Assist in additional duties as assigned.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
1. Management
· Lead the human resources team to help internal managers and employees leverage HR efforts.
· Manage programs and policies for both salaried and contract teams to ensure they have the necessary tools and resources.
· Develop KPIs annually and measure quarterly to ensure team excellence.
2. Training
· Establish and document best practices and ensure compliance by the HR team.
· Provide on-the-job training and coaching to enhance the value brought to employees.
· Create and deliver training programs to support team members’ development.
· Ensure continuous learning, professional development, and knowledge transfer.
3. Human Resource Strategy
· Develop and maintain an overall human resource strategy.
· Work with department heads to ensure workforce capacity to deliver on commitments.
· Conduct competitive compensation analysis.
· Lead recruiting efforts and implement employer branding strategies.
4. Workforce Management
· Oversee the applicant tracking process including job postings, scheduling, and background investigations.
· Facilitate the hiring process and collaborate with managers to identify required skills and competencies.
· Manage the employee onboarding process with a focus on continuous improvement.
· Maintain accurate job descriptions and evaluate training program effectiveness.
· Implement new hire orientation and recognition programs.
5. Operations
· Handle employment-related inquiries and refer complex matters as necessary.
· Promote a positive work environment and handle conflict resolution.
· Maintain compliance with employment laws and regulations.
· Stay updated on trends, best practices, and new technologies in HR.
· Oversee payroll and benefits management across all operating regions.
· Manage HRIS (BambooHR) to meet organizational needs.
· Ensure compliance with mandatory training and certifications.
· Conduct workforce capacity planning and report to company leadership.
· Track and report significant HR metrics impacting the business.
· Manage HR aspects of organizational reporting and provide insights for strategic decision-making.
6. Success Measures
· Meet or exceed quarterly key performance metrics as outlined by the manager.
· Ensure managers and employees receive effective HR solutions to advance their career progression.
· Measured on completion of quarterly KPI reviews, use of professional development resources, timely completion of performance reviews, and on-time recertification of credentials.
Requirements
· Experience: Eight (8) years of human resources experience in a global organization, three (3) years of team management with budget responsibility.
· Education: Associate degree in Human Resources or related fields required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
· Certifications: Professional certification from SHRM, CPHR, or equivalent is an asset.
· Skills: Exceptional communication, negotiation, conflict-resolution, and time management skills. Proficiency in HRIS and talent management systems, analytical skills, and ability to thrive in a high-energy, fast-paced environment.
