Full Job Description
UI Design (approx. 55%)
- Taking existing creative direction or your own creative direction, you will create a broad range of visual design elements that represent the final design and look and feel of a project. Then, iterating on those designs until they meet the needs of the Client, our Dev team and the quality standards of 900lbs;
- Client meetings: taking notes relating to functionality, designs, content types, etc and presenting concepts and your work;
- Brainstorming with the Team on storyboards, style frames, UI look, UX flow and brainstorm solutions for a project;
- Lite creative direction and art direction responsibilities and contributions. Helping conceptualize a project’s vision;
- Creating various documentation, style guides and animations for Devs to understand artwork form and function;
- Working with developers to export your 2D artwork into the project’s game engine;
- Creating design mood boards to help direct the style of a project;
- In collaboration with Leads, annual Smart Goals are created to help you grow your skills, learning new techniques, tools, styles and progress in your role;
- QA: not just at the end of a project at set times but checking in with devs and designers throughout the project;
UX Design (approx. 40%)
- Uphold the vision of the interactive experience through thoughtful design of key interactions, user flows, and information architecture;
- Support and conduct UX research to better understand a Client’s users;
- Strong focus and delivery on information architecture and content organization;
- Advocate for users and their needs throughout the project lifecycle;
- Produce UX flows, IA diagrams, content strategy, wireframes, prototypes, and presentations with support and supervision of Team Lead and others;
- Work closely with developers and designers to ensure that the project’s UX design is understood and upheld;
- Participate in Discovery, Plan and other phases of the Creative Process;
- Contribute to creative project solutions and RFP responses in both narrative and spec work and/or concepts;
- Keep an iterative approach to design and be open to feedback from Users, Client, and Team;
- Balance time and priorities across several different projects/tasks (large and/or small) simultaneously;
- Keep a good understanding of the big picture of the project, including how decisions;
- impact financial outcomes;
Business & Agency Development (approx. 5%)
- Participate, as needed, in new Client business opportunities;
- Recommend and participate in associations and event opportunities, where applicable;
Assist the Team’s preparation for various deliverables and milestones for successful Client relationships; - Perform efficient research on Client projects to gain valuable insights informing creative decisions (done within the budget parameters);
- Remain informed of industry tools and trends in tech, software, and innovation, enlighten Teams when necessary;
- Contribute to company PR related activities i.e. presentations, talks, recruitment, socialmedia and website/marketing designs and ideas;
Requirements
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred
Work Experience
- 5-7+ years experience in UI/UX design or a related field within agency setting preferred
- Strong portfolio that demonstrates aesthetic & strategically creative solutions
Key Skills Set
- Strategic and clear in user experience process and delivery
- Great design & layout skills, with an eye for composition, color, typography
- Can do attitude, with an eagerness to learn new programs and processes
- You have familiarity with Agile work cycles, Waterfall and/or other methodologies
- Extreme attention to detail involving everything from presentation prep to visuals you
- create to reviews of other’s work
- Must exhibit a high level of confidentiality
- Highly efficient time management skills
- Ability to prioritize and hold oneself accountable
- Capable of multitasking on the production of multiple projects and successful time management skills
- Open-minded attitude to thrive in our fast paced, innovative agency
- Hand drawing/sketching skills (not required, but a bonus)
- Passion for emerging interactive Technologies like AR, MR, VR, touch interfaces, immersive tools, etc
Equipment And Applications
- High proficiency in Figma, Adobe CC: Photoshop, Illustrator, etc
- Used to working in collaborative project management tools like Miro, Monday, Click-Up, Trello, Wrike, etc
- Working knowledge of all standard office equipment

PTO: Front-Loaded Bank, Instead Of Accrued
Paid Time Off (PTO) is a combination of vacation, sick time and personal time away from work, available after a post-probationary period of 60 days. In addition to paid Federal Holidays, 900lbs grants several half-days and office-closed-early days throughout the year. 900lbs also grants a Special Week Off for the Holidays at the end of each year. These Special PTO Days are above and beyond the general PTO days that our Team Members are allotted.
