Full Job Description
As the Solar Site Manager at Scout, you will oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of Scout’s Markum Solar Farm located on ranch land in McLennan and Bosque Counties, TX. You will work closely and coordinate with project stakeholders and supervising site personnel to implement protocols to optimize solar energy production while ensuring safe and efficient operation of the solar installation.
Key responsibilities include:
- Project Coordination: Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to ensure smooth project execution, from planning to completion.
- Site Operations: Oversee the daily operations of solar sites, ensuring compliance with safety standards, environmental regulations, and industry best practices.
- Personnel Management: Supervise on-site personnel, including technicians and maintenance staff. Provide leadership, training, and guidance to ensure a cohesive and efficient team.
- Quality Assurance: Implement and monitor quality control measures to ensure the reliability and performance of the solar installations.
- Performance Monitoring: Utilize monitoring tools and data analysis to track the performance of solar panels, identify issues, and implement corrective actions to optimize energy output.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of site activities, including inspections, maintenance schedules, energy production, site outages, landowner communications, and incident reports.
- Communication: Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies, to provide updates on project status, address concerns, and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
- Problem Resolution and Risk Management: Promptly address and resolve issues related to site operations, equipment malfunctions, and other project challenges.
Requirements
- 5+ years of solar energy project management or a similar role.
- Strong understanding of solar technology, installation processes, and industry regulations.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
- Ability to analyze data and recommend improvements for optimal energy production.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and environmental regulations.

- Demonstrated ability to work in a flat organization, successfully leveraging the expertise of multiple colleagues in different lines of reporting.
- Strong communication, project management and team-building skills experience working with cross- functional internal and external technical advisors and stakeholders.
- Ability to multi-task and arbitrate between conflicting priorities with clear target setting and follow- through capability in a fast-paced work environment.
- Willing and available to travel as needed (approximately two trips per month).
- Authorized to work in the United States.
Timeline and Location
This position is targeted to start Spring 2024.
This is an onsite position located in Bosque County, TX. Standard business hours are 7:00 am – 3:30 pm, and 5:30 pm – 12:00 am during maintenance cycles.

Compensation
Target base salary: Range starts at $90,000 - $100,000 and will increase based on prior experience and fit for this role. Attractive bonus potential.
