Full Job Description

The Role: 

We are seeking a Shipping & Receiving Coordinator to join our Aldinger team! 

As our Shipping & Receiving Coordinator, you will manage all aspects of shipping and receiving at our Dallas Office. You will be responsible for handling, documenting, and coordinating all logistics of incoming and outgoing shipments. Additionally, you will be responsible for maintaining inventory control and ensuring that all packages remain organized and secure.  

This is a high-impact role as the Shipping & Receiving Coordinator’s contributions are crucial to the efficiency and functionality of our operations and you will be closely partnering and collaborating with all departments, to ensure smooth operations and uphold high standards of customer satisfaction. 

 

Day to Day Responsibilities: 

  • Shipping and Receiving: Oversee the shipment and receipt of all goods, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments. 
  • Inventory Management: Track inventory levels and maintain accurate records to ensure availability and accountability of stock. 
  • Documentation: Prepare and manage all necessary shipping documents required for the transport of goods both domestically and internationally. 
  • Coordination: Work closely with the Aldinger laboratory team to coordinate and prioritize shipments. 
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations pertaining to shipping and receiving practices. 
  • Safety: Maintain a clean and safe environment in the shipping and receiving area, adhering to company policies and safety standards. 
  • Problem Resolution: Address and resolve any issues related to damaged or lost shipments as well as discrepancies in orders. 

Requirements

Basic Qualifications: 

  • Ability to lift 50 pounds and stand for prolonged periods.  
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently. 
  • Excellent organizational, prioritization, and administrative skills. 
  • Excellent customer service skills. 
  • Ability to operate a forklift. 
  • Must have a valid driver's license and proof of insurance. 

Nice to Have: 

  • Experience: 2+ years in shipping and receiving or a related field. 
  • Familiarity with inventory management systems. 
  • Familiarity with shipping software (e.g., UPS WorldShip, FedEx Ship Manager). 
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word. 
  • Understanding of import/export regulations and international shipping practices.  
  • Higher education or certification in logistics is preferred. 
  • Ability to operate a forklift with prior experience.
