Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Senior AR Accountant to join our vibrant team! The Senior AR Accountant will help us continue spreading the joy of gardening and making it accessible by leverage their experience and expertise in accounting to support our fast-growing company. If you are a team-centric and organized accounting professional who is passionate about sustainable living and making a difference, we would love to have you on our team! This is a full-time, on-site position based out of Tomball, TX.

  • Manage the end-to-end process of customer invoicing, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and adherence to billing policies and contractual agreements.
  • Oversee the collection process, monitor aging accounts, and implement strategies to reduce past-due balances and improve cash flow.
  • Investigate and resolve complex billing discrepancies, issues, and disputes, collaborating with internal departments and clients as necessary.
  • Provide guidance and support to junior accounts receivable accountants, reviewing their work, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal controls.
  • Prepare and analyze regular reports on accounts receivable aging, collection activities, and key performance indicators.
  • Process and manage new customer's credit applications; review existing customer creditworthiness and make recommendations on credit limits and terms.
  • Approve customers' tax exemptions and review monthly sales tax filing documents.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, customer service, and finance, to address customer inquiries, resolve disputes, and provide exceptional customer support.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of process improvements and automation initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the accounts receivable function.
  • Participate in the month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting related to accounts receivable.
  • Stay updated on evolving accounting regulations, industry trends, and best practices in accounts receivable management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting; Master's degree in accounting is preferred.
  • 3+ years of professional accounting experience.
  • Public accounting firm experience is a plus, e-commerce working experience is a plus.
  • Capable of working in a fast-changing internet environment and adept at quickly learning new business-related software.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Excel formulas (Pivot Table, VLOOKUP, and SUMIF, etc.).
  • Ability to sit at a desk and work on a computer for prolonged periods of time.

Job Location and Work Schedule:

  • 13808 Boudreaux Road, Bldg. #2, Tomball, TX 77377
  • Monday through Friday
  • 8:30 am to 5:00 pm; lunch break 12:00 pm to 12:30 pm

Benefits

  • The salary range for this role is $65,000 - $75,000.
