Role:
We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Director of Sales to lead our sales efforts for Range Ward's managed grazing electric fencing trailers in the United States. The Director of Sales will be responsible for developing and executing strategic sales plans to drive revenue growth, expand market presence, and foster strong customer relationships.
Although we have operated in Canada for the past 9 years, we newer to the US market. We are looking for a dynamic sales leader that can build and execute a US sales plan for direct sales as well as dealer sales. The position will require travel.
The successful candidate will be well connected with Ag Equipment Dealers as well as government and institutional opportunities. This is a position with a high degree of autonomy and is well suited to someone self-motivated and scrappy, who can thrive in start-up and performance driven environment.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute sales strategies and tactics to define and grow the US market, —engaging directly with customers via shows, product delivery and local participation
- Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies to achieve sales targets and objectives for Range Ward's electric fencing trailers in the USA.
- Identify and prioritize key target markets and customer segments, and develop tailored sales approaches to effectively penetrate and capture market share.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key customers, industry stakeholders, and strategic partners to drive sales opportunities and enhance brand visibility.
- Analyze market trends, competitive dynamics, and customer feedback to inform product development initiatives, pricing strategies, and marketing campaigns.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, product development, and operations teams to align sales efforts with overall business objectives and ensure seamless execution of sales initiatives.
- Prepare regular sales reports, forecasts, and performance metrics, and present findings to senior management to track progress and inform strategic decision-making.
- Represent Range Ward at industry events, trade shows, and conferences to showcase products, build brand awareness, and network with potential customers and partners.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, agriculture, or a related field; MBA preferred.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive experience in sales leadership roles, preferably within the agriculture or farm equipment industry.
- Proven track record of driving sales growth and exceeding revenue targets in a competitive B2B and B2C sales environment.
- Scrappy, can-do, entrepreneurial attitude. With the ability to self-start and self-manage
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with customers and stakeholders at all levels.
- Strategic thinker with a data-driven and customer-centric approach to sales planning and execution.
- Deep understanding of managed grazing agricultural practices, livestock management, and general grazing systems is highly desirable.
- Ability to travel frequently (~30%) within the United States as needed.
