General Role Description
Develop and maintain the quality control and testing function to ensure the quality and production goals for the product lines are met
Role Accountabilities
- Define, develop and implement quality control and testing standards, metrics, policies, and procedures to meet product requirements and specifications, comply with industry standard and regulations, and align with business goals
- Build and lead a team of committed and capable employees to ensure product quality
- Design and develop test procedures, test reports, and test standards based on product requirements and specifications
- Ensure the schedule and execution of tests, including, but not limited to, validation, functional, performance, and factory acceptance, are in compliance with all requirements and meet product delivery deadlines
- Identify areas for process improvement and implement changes to enhance product quality and testing efficiency
- Monitor and analyze quality metrics to drive continuous improvement initiatives
- Monitor industry best practices and emerging technologies to innovate quality control and testing processes
- Monitor the identification, documentation, and tracking of defects and other issues from receipt to shipment, ensuring all are addressed before shipping
- Facilitate root cause analysis and work with relevant teams to resolve quality issues
- Maintain detailed documentation of quality control processes and test reports
- Prepare and present quality control and testing reports, status updates, and issues to production management and supervisors
- Gather and analyze client feedback related to product quality, integrating feedback into the quality control processes
- Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to minimize impact on product delivery and client satisfaction
- Communicate effectively with all stakeholders regarding quality control and testing issues
- Prepare for and participate in internal and external audits or inspections related to quality control

Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in electrical, electronic, mechanical engineering or related field or equivalent via education and/or work experience
- 2 years’ technical management experience in the power electronics industry
- 5 years’ experience in medium and high voltage electrical testing in a manufacturing environment
- 2 years’ experience in quality control inspection in a manufacturing environment
- Demonstrated ability to read and interpret schematics and electrical drawings
- Proficiency with digital oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, high voltage isolators, current clamps and hand tools
- Demonstrated success leading teams to accomplish business goals
- Demonstrated successful working relationships with clients, suppliers, and other internal and external contacts
- Demonstrated successful and positive personal leadership, interpersonal, organizational, administrative, and communication skills
- Demonstrated continuous improvement in areas of responsibility
- Advanced knowledge of quality control methodologies, software and testing tools
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and an ERP business system
- Availability to travel, domestically and internationally, approximately 10%, sometimes with limited notice
Preferred Qualifications
- Management experience in an ISO 9001 environment
- Demonstrated success developing and managing supervisors
- Proficiency with Oracle
