Job Summary:
The Junior Financial Analyst is responsible for assisting with the budgeting and reporting processes for REE Medical. Reporting to the Senior Financial Analyst within the Financial Planning and Analysis team, you will play a critical role in the monthly financial performance analysis with preparing detailed variances reports monitoring both the short-term and long-term financial strategies for each of the departments within REE. This role is exciting to you with the thought of completing analysis to facilitate monthly close, preparation of monthly reporting packages and ad hoc reporting requirements, including forecasting, budgeting, Board Meeting preparation, and development and tracking of key performance indicators within our company to enable leadership to make sound business decisions and meet the company’s objectives. A successful Junior Financial Analyst is detail-oriented, has strong knowledge of accounting principles, excellent mathematical skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
What is expected in this role:
- Serving as the front line expert within the Financial Analyst team ensuring REE Medical continues to align with overall company targets and goals.
- This includes analyzing costs, pricing, variable contributions, sales results, and the REE's actual performance compared to the business plans and prior periods and preparing the monthly budget vs actual variances reports by department and REE at large.
- This also include assisting the Senior Financial Analyst with more complex financial reports, the interpretation of financial information facilitating recommendations to leadership, and supporting the development and implementation of a new FP&A reporting software.
- This means you are the eyes and ears of the data, identifying trends from past data and creating future projections based on REE's goals. You use this knowledge and data to help with the overall company budget and ensure alignment across the various departments.
- Serving as the Point of Contact for all Departmental Leadership regarding departmental budgets, trends, plans, and adjustments.
- This means you verify departmental adjustments and ensure accuracy of data within budget projections and monthly reports.
- This includes communicating with all internal and external stakeholders appropriately confirming reports, trends, budgets, and other financial information as needed.
- This also means you are proactively collaborating with departmental leaders and the Financial team ensuring alignment and support for their various reports, budgets, and financial information.
- Adhering to all regulations and processes as established by REE’s policies, along with safeguarding personally identifiable information / personal health information in accordance with HIPPA laws.
Requirements
What you need in this role to be successful:
- Ideally located in the Greater Houston area.
- 2+ years of experience as a Financial Analyst, accounting clerk, analyst, or other relative finance/ accounting experience.
- At least 1 year of experience working within a Finance Tool / Software such as ZoHo, Salesforce, Oracle, QuickBooks, Xero, etc.
- 1+ year of experience owning monthly reporting and presenting to leadership levels is a Plus!
- Excellent ability to navigate Microsoft Office Suite and multiple platforms including ZoHo, Slack, Teams, etc.
- This means you are able to use Excel with advanced knowledge of conditional formatting, VLook Ups, Pivot Tables, IF Formulas, etc.
- This also means you are able to navigate several reporting tools, CRMs, or accounting softwares understanding the system behind the technology to easily adapt to a new tool.
- Previous experience in the medical industry is a Plus!
- Highly organized, have multi-tasking skills, and efficient in ambiguous situations.
- Proactive thinking, consistently foreseeing and preparing for forthcoming challenges or opportunities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a track record of communicating in a remote-first environment.
- Expert level attention to detail.
- Experience in start-up or early-stage environments with little or no defined infrastructure or processes.
- Track record of working in a fast-paced, fluid environment.
- Analytical and problem-solving orientation.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or other relevant field required. Master's is a Plus! An additional 2+ plus years of experience can be considered in lieu of degree requirement.
