General Role Description

Provide electrical engineering expertise to support the design, localization and production of medium voltage (MV) adjustable speed drives, photovoltaic inverters (PV) and uninterruptible power supply (UPS)

Role Accountabilities

-   Perform system level and detailed circuit design of power electronic circuits and associated control and interface circuits to meet the requirement of the engineering specification

-   Perform product localization in collaboration with parent company engineering and technical support groups

-   Conduct tests, analyze test data, and write test reports to record operating performance and provide data to support product compliance with customer or internal specifications and applicable third-party standards

-   Specify components for use in medium voltage drives (MVD), photovoltaic (PV) inverters and uninterruptible power supply (UPS)

-   Provide technical content for product manuals     

-   Provide engineering guidance to drafters, designers and production personnel on production orders

-   Participate in design reviews with parent company, designers and clients to resolve technical and program management issues, leading reviews as needed

-   Lead initiatives to increase product value and control costs within a Design-To-Cost (DTC) program

-   Provide engineering support to procurement, planning and operations during the manufacturing process to bring designs to completion

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

-   Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering; or equivalent via education and/or work experience

-   2 years ‘experience in power electronics design

-   Demonstrated experience using AutoCAD

-   Demonstrated knowledge of NEC, UL and CSA standards

-   Demonstrated successful working relationships with clients, suppliers, other internal and external contacts

-   Demonstrated successful and positive personal leadership, interpersonal, organizational, administrative, and          communication skills

-   Demonstrated continuous improvement in areas of responsibility

-   Proficiency in in MS Word, Excel, Outlook

-   Availability to travel, domestically and internationally, up to 10%, sometimes, with limited notice

Preferred Qualifications

-   Experience with medium voltage product design

-   Experience with MW class PV PCS product design

-   Experience with large capacity UPS product design

-   Knowledge of magnetics

-   Experience with application and specification of transformers, reactors, filters

-   Experience with power circuit simulator, such as PSIM, PSpice or MATLAB
