Full Job Description
The Director of Outpatient Services develops and administers a comprehensive outpatient program that responds to the community needs and supports San Antonio Behavioral Healthcare Hospital overall mission, philosophy, and goals. In summary, the Director manages all activities involving outpatient referrals from initial call through completion of treatment plans, coordinating caseloads, developing and managing the outpatient staff, and marketing the program. However, the Director is not the “Clinical Supervisor” of the staff. At SABHH, the “Administrative Supervisor” role is separated from the “Clinical Supervisor” role and furthermore, the Director may be a non-clinician.
Essential Duties:
· Responsibility for managing, organizing, and completing tasks, including setting up the Outpatient departmental system for its completion through delegation to office or outpatient staff.
· Evaluates programs and activities to ensure patient/customer satisfaction and quality.
· Develops/revises/updates departmental policies and procedures, work processes and staffing plans.
· Establishes and monitors departmental performance indicators, goals and objectives that are consistent with SABHH strategic objectives, mission, vision and values.
· Develops and maintains management reports for senior leadership and medical staff as needed.
· Evaluates the outpatient program on an ongoing basis and ensures all aspects meets regulatory compliance standards.
· Hires, evaluates, counsels, develops and administratively manages the department.
Requirements
Education and/or Licensure – Master’s degree in the healthcare industry or business with two (2) years’ experience in management in the health care industry. Licensure is not required for this administrative supervisory position but if licensed as a LMSW, LCSW, LMFT, or LPC; you must provide proof to practice in the State of Texas.
Experience – A minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a mental health setting preferred. General knowledge of areas of psychiatric and chemical dependency treatment required.
