Role Overview: As the Director of Field Services, you will lead the US Field Services team with full P&L ownership and strategic direction of asset deployments. This pivotal role empowers you to shape the future of our core service offerings, drive operational excellence, and propel growth and profitability. You will lead a skilled field service team, foster a culture of continuous improvement and safety, and spearhead the development of new service offerings and pricing strategies to expand market presence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement strategies to grow service offerings and achieve organizational goals.
- P&L Management: Drive sales volume and operating profits through effective P&L management, strategic asset deployment, and superior customer satisfaction.
- Innovation: Provide innovative ideas for service pricing strategies and contract pricing agreements.
- Culture Building: Foster a culture of safety, continuous improvement, collaboration, and growth.
- Financial Management: Manage departmental budget, financial performance, and forecasting.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure strict compliance with safety policies and procedures, including "Stop Work" conditions.
- Team Development: Manage staffing requirements, training, and personnel development for the division.
- Service Standards: Establish and maintain high service standards and execution of best practices.
- Growth Opportunities: Identify and pursue profitable growth opportunities while declining low-margin business.
- Quality Assurance: Conduct quality assurance and audits to ensure service quality.
- Industry Representation: Represent the company at industry events and conferences, nurturing industry relationships.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering or electrical field.
- Experience: Minimum of 10+ years in the automation industry and field service functions, with at least 3+ years in the municipal water and wastewater industry.
- Leadership: Proven track record of leading field service personnel and managing equipment.
- Expertise: Strong background in service pricing strategies, contract negotiations, and generating project scopes of work, budgetary proposals, and delivery timelines.
- Technical Skills: Extensive knowledge of process instrumentation, SCADA, PLCs, relay logic, and process controls. Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, contract documents, and P&ID drawings.
- Communication: Excellent communication skills with the ability to build and lead teams effectively.
- Travel: Willingness to travel 25-40% for office visits, team meetings, training, and customer site visits.
