Job Title: Director of Business Operations

Location: San Jose, CA, Dallas Fort Worth Metroplex, Atlanta, GA, Pittsburgh, PA or Hybrid/Remote

Travel: Required Occasionally

Reports to: Chief Financial Officer

Salary: 140k - 160k total compensation

Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Business Operations leader to steer the operational functions of our embedded / edge software and professional services business focused on aerospace, defense, space, automotive, and other mission-critical end-markets. This role will be instrumental in shaping and refining our operational processes, driving M&A integration efforts, optimizing enterprise systems, and driving scalable, profitable growth. This role will work closely with the Finance, Professional Services, Engineering, Product and Sales teams. The ideal candidate will bring a deep understanding of how the application of sound operational processes and data-driven management can drive efficiency across go-to-market, software engineering, services delivery, and program management functional areas. The Directorof Business Operations will work closely with executive leadership and functional teams to ensure operational excellence to support the company’s growth aligned to our strategic goals in a highly regulated environment, requiring strong partnership with Lynx’s legal and compliance functions.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Operational Excellence and Process Optimization

·         Lead, refine, and standardize operational processes across departments to improve efficiency and reduce costs.

·         Develop and implement process improvements and best practices to support scalable growth.

·         Drive execution through ability to quickly move from high-level conversations into detailed operational discussions

·         Create and track key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational metrics to drive performance and accountability.

·         Document processes for both internal use and ISO audit support

Enterprise Systems Management

·         Oversee the deployment, management, and optimization of enterprise systems (ERP, CRM, etc.) and tools that support business functions.

·         Evaluate and recommend new technologies to improve workflow and enhance collaboration.

·         Work with IT,other departments and outside consultants to ensure systems align with operational needs and drive productivity.

·         Manage relationship with outside consultants to maintain and enhance systems and tools

Scalable Growth Enablement

·         Partner with sales, finance, professional services and engineering teams to align operational strategies with business objectives.

·         Develop scalable operational models and frameworks to support rapid growth and effective communication

·         Lead change management initiatives to streamline workflows and minimize disruptions.

Cross-Functional Collaboration and Leadership

·         Act as a liaison between business units to ensure cohesive and streamlined operations.

·         Drive strategic projects, including mergers and acquisitions, geographic expansion, and new product rollouts.

·         Ensure operational efficiencies and improvements meet the various regulatory requirements of our business (DCAA, DFAR, ISO audits, CMMC, ITAR, Export controls).

Financial and Risk Management

·         Support Finance and Accounting to develop budgets, forecasts, and metrics for monitoring operational performance and alignment with company financial objectives.

·         Identify operational risks and work to implement mitigation strategies.

·         Analyze financial and operational data to provide insights and recommendations to senior leadership.

Requirements

Qualifications:

·         Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations Management, Engineering, or a related field

·         10+ years of experience in business operations, preferably within the embedded software, professional services, technology or government contractor sectors.

·          

·         Proven experience in strategic planning, process improvement, enterprise systems and change management.

·         Analytical mindset with proficiency in data analysis, financial modeling and KPI tracking.

·         Demonstrated leadership ability, with experience managing cross-functional teams.Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills, with the ability to translate insights and data into actionable recommendations for leaders and engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.

·         An understanding of government contracting regulations (FARs/DFARs), ITAR and related compliance requirements is preferred, but not required.

·         Familiarity with the following tools is a bonus, but not required: Salesforce, CloudCoach or Netsuite

·         15-25% travel required, depending on location
