About the Position:
The Demand Planner is responsible for developing and maintaining accurate demand forecasts for the company's product lines. This role involves analyzing sales trends, market data, and promotional activities to ensure optimal inventory levels, reduce stockouts, and improve overall supply chain efficiency.
Responsibilities:
- Forecasting:
- Develop and maintain accurate demand forecasts at multiple levels of aggregation for multiple time horizons.
- Utilize historical sales data, market trends, seasonality, and other relevant factors to predict future demand.
- Collaborate with sales, marketing, and finance teams to incorporate business intelligence and forecast information.
- Inventory Management:
- Monitor inventory levels and ensure alignment with demand forecasts.
- Work closely with supply chain and procurement teams to manage stock levels and reduce excess inventory.
- Identify and mitigate potential inventory risks, including stockouts and overstock situations.
- Data Analysis:
- Analyze sales data, consumer trends, and promotional impact to refine and adjust forecasts.
- Use statistical models and software tools to enhance forecast accuracy.
- Prepare and present demand planning reports to management, highlighting key insights and recommendations.
- Collaboration:
- Act as the main point of contact between the demand planning function and other departments.
- Lead cross-functional meetings to discuss forecast assumptions, promotional plans, and new product introductions.
- Communicate forecast changes and their implications to relevant stakeholders.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Continuously seek ways to improve forecasting processes and methodologies.
- Stay updated on industry best practices and technological advancements in demand planning.
- Participate in the development and implementation of new planning tools and systems.
- Performance Metrics:
- Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) related to demand planning, such as forecast accuracy, inventory turnover, and service levels.

Additional Responsibilities:
New Product Introduction (NPI) Forecasting
- Manage forecasts for new product launches in partnership with the commercialization manager and other cross-functional teams, leveraging historical analogs and market research, while monitoring performance and refining forecasts based on actual demand trends.
Scenario Planning and Risk Assessment
- Conduct scenario analysis to anticipate demand fluctuations caused by economic, market, or internal factors, and plan for potential disruptions such as supply chain issues or seasonal demand spikes.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Statistics, or a related field.
- Experience: 2-5 years of experience in demand planning, forecasting, or a related supply chain role within the CPG industry.
- Skills:
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets.
- Proficiency in demand planning software and tools (e.g., Kinaxis, Net Suite, AP APO, Oracle Demantra, JDA, Excel).
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced degree (MBA or related field).
- Certification in Supply Chain Management (e.g., APICS CPIM, CSCP).
- Experience with statistical forecasting techniques and software.
- Work Environment:
- Hybrid Position: It will require regular in-office presence on a weekly basis, as well as additional in-office days as needed to meet business demands. Fast-paced environment requiring flexibility and adaptability. Some travel may be required to meet with suppliers, customers, or other company locations.
