Aethon Energy Operating LLC (“Aethon”) Completions Engineer is responsible for engineering support and supervision of completions operations within the organization while adhering to our Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) initiatives. The position oversees daily completions activities including frac spreads, coiled tubing operations, well testing (flowback) and workover operations for our development program. The position will work collaboratively with other operations disciplines as well as the geology and development teams to achieve our goals in an efficient manner.
DUTIES & JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Engineer, design, and manage operational execution of new-well completion projects and workovers to ensure seamless project coordination and that wells are turned over to the production operations team for safe production within surface equipment specifications.
- Lead day-to-day planning and operations in coordination with completions superintendent and contractors related to assigned projects. On call 24/7 as projects are being executed. Ensure operations are conducted in a safe and environmentally sound manner.
- Work closely with operations, geology and reservoir teams to identify design optimization opportunities and technology implementation potential.
- Manage project spend, track costs, perform monthly accruals and review/approve all project invoices. Work closely with contractors to drive cost control and performance.
- Lead and execute on special project initiatives as needed.
- Up to 25% field time required depending on operational and development needs.
Requirements
- BS in Engineering (Petroleum or Mechanical preferred)
- 3 or more year's experience
- Fully functional in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and WellView. Must be able to demonstrate an understanding of Cerberus modelling software.
- Ability to think critically, analyze data and utilize emerging technologies to develop fit-for-purpose programs.
- Confidently recognize problems and identify solutions. Must be able to provide suggestions to management founded in strong engineering principals and path forward on complex completion projects including but not limited to HPHT fishing operations, coil tubing drill outs, stimulations, and wireline work.
- Self-starter. Doesn’t require a lot of direction to manage projects or to start projects and implement ideas.
- Strong attention to detail
- Strong communication skills via multiple format (email, phone, Microsoft Teams, etc)
- Strong Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point, etc. capability
- Possesses acute technical writing capability for procedure and presentation creation and/or review
