Accounting Specialist

We are seeking an organized and detail-oriented financial professional to join our Finance team. The Accounting Specialist will take ownership of a broad range of functions that might include Accounts Payable, financial report preparation, multi-state and international sales tax preparation, account reconciliations, and other responsibilities as assigned. Our organization is composed of several entities and is growing rapidly, so the position will change and grow along with it.

Responsibilities:

• Daily posting of payments received from wholesale customers
• Coordination with the wholesale sales team and customers to collect past-due payments when they occur
• Downloading from the bank and reconciling deposits from ecommerce sales
• Reconciling merchant payment platform transactions monthly
• Reconciling Amazon seller accounts semi-monthly
• Participating as requested in the monthly GL closing process
• Any other bookkeeping tasks as needed

Requirements

• Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and best practices
• Proficiency in QuickBooks and Excel, including Excel pivot table and vlookup functions 
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
• Initiative in problem solving and troubleshooting
• Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related field is desirable, Associate degree in  Accounting or a related field is a minimum requirement
• Previous bookkeeping or general accounting experience preferred
