Accountant

Mozaic is seeking a part time detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our team. As an Accountant, you will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with accounting principles and regulations. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of accounting practices, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

Financial Reporting:

• Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data.

Account Reconciliation:

• Perform monthly reconciliations of bank accounts, credit cards, and other general ledger accounts.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies and variances.

Accounts Payable and Receivable:

• Process vendor invoices and employee expense reports.
• Monitor and follow up on accounts receivable to ensure timely payment.

General Ledger:

• Maintain the integrity of the general ledger by accurately recording transactions and allocating expenses.
• Assist in the month-end and year-end closing processes.

Tax Compliance:

• Assist in the preparation of tax returns and ensure compliance with tax regulations.
• Collaborate with external auditors and tax advisors during audits.

Financial Analysis:

• Conduct financial analysis to support decision-making and identify areas for improvement.
• Prepare reports and presentations for management.

Process Improvement:

• Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains.
• Propose and implement enhancements to financial processes and procedures.

Compliance:

• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and company policies.
• Stay updated on changes in accounting regulations.

Collaboration:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as Finance, Operations, and Human Resources.
• Provide accounting support and guidance to other departments as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• 5+ years of experience in accounting or a similar role.
• 3+ years of experience in Fintech or financial companies.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Google Suite.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Reconciliation of books

Preferred Qualifications

• CPA (Certified Public Accountant) qualification.
