Full Job Description

Overview:

We are seeking a Revenue Cycle Integration and Optimization Manager to assist in executing key revenue cycle initiatives across our private-equity owned multi-specialty otolaryngology MSO. This role will focus on EMR optimization, developing and refining revenue cycle reporting and metrics, and ensuring effective integration of revenue cycle processes across multiple practices operating on disparate systems. This role is essential in helping us unify our revenue cycle processes across practices, driving consistency, efficiency, and ultimately better financial outcomes for the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

·       EMR Optimization:

Lead efforts to optimize EMR workflows and functionality across practices operating on disparate systems, with a focus on improving revenue cycle efficiency. Work with IT, practice management, and revenue cycle teams to streamline EMR functionalities such as patient scheduling, charge capture, coding, billing, and claims submission. Provide recommendations for system customizations, process improvements, and necessary upgrades to enhance financial performance across different EMR platforms, with a preference for eClinicalWorks or ModMed.

·       Revenue Cycle Reporting & Metrics:

Develop and refine revenue cycle reports and metrics from various EMR systems, ensuring consistent data collection and reporting across all practices. Work with the Revenue Cycle Director to define key performance indicators (KPIs) and develop dashboards that monitor DSO, denial rates, A/R aging, and collections performance. Ensure the data is presented in a clear, actionable format that supports decision-making at both the practice and executive levels. Collaborate with IT and data teams to ensure reporting automation and ease of access for stakeholders.

·       Practice Onboarding & Integration:

Lead the development and implementation of best practices for integrating new practices into Align, focusing on streamlining revenue cycle processes and ensuring smooth onboarding onto standardized systems and workflows. Collaborate with the operations and revenue cycle teams to ensure newly onboarded practices are quickly integrated with Align policies and practices, reducing disruptions and enhancing operational readiness.

·       Process Standardization:

Drive the standardization of revenue cycle processes across practices with varying workflows and EMR systems. Identify and address differences in registration, charge entry, claim submission, and payment posting & reconciliation. Implement unified policies and procedures that support a cohesive revenue cycle operation across Align, ultimately working towards transitioning all practices to a more unified platform. Ensure that standardized processes are scalable and adaptable to practice-specific needs while aligning with the broader goals of Align.

·       Change Management:

Serve as the key driver in implementing revenue cycle process changes across practices with disparate systems. This includes managing change initiatives related to billing and coding practices, claim submission workflows, and payer contract compliance. Partner with individual practice leaders to assess the impact of changes on current workflows and provide guidance on adopting new processes. Ensure seamless transitions with minimal disruptions to daily revenue cycle operations, offering support and troubleshooting where needed.

·       Cross-functional Collaboration:

Build strong, collaborative relationships with operations teams across Align to ensure that revenue cycle initiatives align with overall practice management goals. Work hand-in-hand with operations leaders to address the unique needs of each practice while driving unification across the MS0O. This includes developing strategies that balance operational efficiency with revenue cycle performance, ensuring that changes to workflows or systems benefit both financial and clinical outcomes.

·       Training and Education:

Develop and deliver comprehensive training programs for practice staff on EMR workflows, revenue cycle processes, and best practices for billing and coding. Provide hands-on support during system transitions and process changes, ensuring that all staff members are equipped to adopt new systems and processes. Create user guides, process documentation, and other training materials that support staff in their day-to-day revenue cycle operations.

·       Other Revenue Cycle Special Projects:

Collaborate with the audiology team to create standardized processes for hearing aid billing, ensuring accuracy and compliance with payer requirements. Partner with the Revenue Cycle Director to improve the patient cost-share experience by standardizing workflows for co-pays, deductibles, and out-of-pocket payments across practices. Lead initiatives to clean up aged A/R and remove outdated data within EMR systems, improving data integrity and overall financial accuracy. Assist in developing a comprehensive revenue cycle playbook, outlining standardized policies and procedures to ensure consistency across the MSO and ongoing adherence to best practices.
