Full Job Description
Access Services is hiring a Billing Coordinator to join our finance team! This team member will support the coordination of billing and collections across Access Services’ Intellectual Disability and Autism programs with reporting capabilities. A successful billing coordinator will be independent, organized, able to quickly adapt to new training or changing needs, mission driven, and knowledgeable in the medical billing field.
Position Summary: Oversee and coordinate all aspects of billing for Intellectual Disabilities and Autism (IDA) division’s programs with accuracy and reliability. This role demands meticulous management of billing data, diligent tracking, and maintenance of IDA billings, along with effective handling of denials and client authorizations. Achieve cross-training in various billing areas to provide comprehensive coverage and support across different service areas. Contribute to operational efficiency and financial integrity of the IDA programs’ billing operations through collaborative efforts and commitment to continuous improvement.
Essential Functions:
- Receive billing data from the programs within the IDA division. Enter the information to be utilized for the IDA programs billing ensuring all entries are accurate and comprehensive to facilitate precise billing.
- Diligently track and maintain IDA billing records for all programs.
- Actively track and document billing denials, identifying issues leading to these denials. Follow up with relevant programs to discuss and resolve the reasons for denials.
- Enter and manage client authorization data into the billing software and dedicated billing spreadsheets with a high level of attention to detail. Ensure that any discrepancies are quickly addressed.
- Complete cross-training in various billing capacities outside of the IDA division. Serve as a proxy biller covering various service areas when required.
- Effectively learn and proficiently utilize EVOLV, the agency’s Electronic Health Records (EHR) system. Maintain proficiency in all related billing systems.
- Contribute to operational efficiency and financial integrity of the IDA programs’ billing operations through collaborative efforts and commitment to continuous improvement.
Requirements
Requirements and Qualifications
Candidates must meet all qualifying and ongoing job criteria including background checks, physical examination results, and clearances.
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate degree in accounting or finance preferred.
Experience: Three (3) years of billing experience in social services and/or health care settings is required. Back-end billing experience is highly preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Excellent organizational and oral/written communication skills.
- Ability to effectively interact with all levels of staff. Ability to handle multiple tasks.
- Proficiency in Excel.
- Ability to learn and independently manage job duties and responsibilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Knowledge of billing software systems.
- Proficiency in, or ability to learn and use, workplace applications, platforms, and technologies.
- Ability to navigate network drives and basic hardware use and troubleshooting.
Essential Working Conditions/Physical Demands: Work in a standard office environment. Utilize desktop computer equipment daily. Able to lift or move items associated with sedentary work and light work (exert up to 20 lbs.) Travel to offsite locations and regional office locations if necessary.

Compensation and Schedule:
- The rate for this role starts at $24.05/hour, with increases based on education and experience.
- This is a full-time position during regular business hours, Monday through Friday
- This is a hybrid role and will be based in our Fort Washington, PA office. The Billing Coordinator is eligible to work 2 days/week in the office and 3 days/week remotely, subject to the Access Services Hybrid Remote Work Policy and supervisor approval after completing training.
