WHO YOU ARE:

The Studio Manager works with the Portland Operations Manager & studio staff to grow revenue, attendance and manage studio systems and teams. The manager is responsible for ensuring strong client relations while maintaining an organized, clean, and welcoming studio atmosphere. The Manager will assist the Portland Operations Manager in implementing studio policies and procedures. The primary focuses are to manage and drive studio sales, membership and attendance, cultivate and lead a strong team and community, and ensure enlightened hospitality for the client experience 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

1. Manage the studio environments and client experience at assigned studio

2. Execute and train employees on  the sales process to sell memberships, class packages, and retail.

3. Manage staff schedule.

4. Partner with the Portland Operations Manager to manage the studio key performance indicators and budget. Key performance indicators include:

  • Revenue
  • Attendance
  • Utilization
  • Conversion
  • Retention

5. Must have 6+months of experience using fitness studio specific software management tools.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead, develop, and inspire the barre3 studio team and community 
  • Manage and supervise front desk, child care, instructors, and maintenance scheduling strategy, implementation, and subbing. 
  • Work with Portland Operations Manager and People & Culture for all new hire paperwork. 
  • Onboard and train Operations Staff. 
  • Collaborate with the Director of Portland Instructor Development to recruit new instructors. 
  • Upsell and convert new and current clients to membership and/or auto renew by utilizing the barre3 sales process. 
  • Work with Portland Operations Manager to set monthly KPI’s and actively work towards hitting these monthly goals including revenue, utilization, conversion, retention.
  • Stays up to date with best in class customer service mentality and provides recommendations for cleaning, maintenance, sales, and client experience in order to maintain best-in-class experience. 
  • Execute strong communication skills and a professional presence to staff and clients 
  • Maintain an organized, clean, and welcoming studio environment as stated in the daily shift checklist. 
  • Supports Front Desk training of visiting franchise owners on an as-needed basis.
  • Independently make decisions related to high-level customer service. 
  • Directly supervise 25+ Studio employees including Front Desk, Child Care, Deep Clean, and Instructor staff.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. 
  • Enforce barre3 Policy + Procedures. 
  • 75% of working hours to be fulfilled in-studio as front desk and/or support staff with potential evenings, weekends and on call as business needs dictate.

Requirements

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • The ability to provide exceptional customer service and work independently.
  • Must possess excellent listening, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must demonstrate initiative, self-motivation, adaptability and flexibility.
  • Must possess strong interpersonal, organizational, attention to detail, analytical, decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Must display empathy while maintaining firm boundaries.
  • Ability to work independently while developing and fostering critical interdepartmental relationships. 
  • Previous management and sales experience required, 2-3 years preferred.
  • Proficient or experience with fitness studio booking applications such as Mindbody or Mariana Tek.
  • Passionate about fitness and wellness and barre3.
