Job Summary:
The compensation manager designs and manages compensation programs that attract and retain employees while aligning with company goals and ensuring compliance with legal standards. They conduct market research, evaluate job roles, and advise leaders to ensure competitive and equitable pay practices. This role also involves supporting executive compensation programs along with supporting various HR projects to support our growing business.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Analyzes, designs, develops and implements the organization's compensation programs.
- Collaborates with HR leadership and business leaders to ensure compensation programs align with business objectives and support our inclusive and equitable approach to compensation.
- Administers the organization’s merit increase process, annual bonus and long-term incentive plans. In addition, provides support to sales, construction and other non-annual incentive plans. Ensures programs are developed timely as well as reporting and payments are completed in an accurate and timely manner.
- Partners with CHRO, Human Resources Managers and other leaders on designing and pricing any organizational structure changes and compensation evaluations.
- Reviews job descriptions and assesses appropriate market data to determine appropriate compensation level as well as evaluate and make recommendations for FLSA status.
- Recommend compensation tools, participate in market surveys, peer surveys and analyze salary survey data for industry trends and best practices. Make appropriate recommendations. Maintain job matches and regular data submissions in compensation tools.
- Develops and maintains recurring and ad hoc reporting. Prepare compensation worksheets for organization as needed, but no less than twice annually. Additionally, responsible for ensuring mass changes and bonus calculations are accurately updated in the HRIS system.
- Conducts analyses and what-if scenarios in the process of determining annual payouts under all incentive programs and any analysis of new programs, replacement programs, etc.
- Assists with the administration of executive compensation programs to include stock options, deferred compensation, required compliance calculations and share authorization.
- Conducts research and stays abreast of compensation, legislative and regulatory trends. Particular attention to pay transparency, pay equity and emerging compensation compliance requirements.
- Assist with special projects as requested and performs additional duties as required.
Requirements
Minimum Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
Minimum of 5 to 7 years’ experience in the analysis, design, and/or administration of compensation programs; with at least 3 years’ experience utilizing query and data analysis skills. At least one year of prior functional human resources experience preferred. Compensation experience with a Public Company a plus.
Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, compliance and procedures within the Compensation/HR field.
- Outstanding attention to detail and organizational skills. Must be able to maintain data accuracy
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word and Excel – including advanced functions
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills to interact with a variety of people inside and outside of organization.
- Must have the ability to quickly learn systems, processes, and procedures.
- High degree of professionalism and confidentiality. Executive presence.
- Strong project management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
