Full Job Description

Zifo is looking to hire a Business Development Manager as part of their Commercial team. This person will manage different aspects of the business development process and ensure close coordination and collaboration with the Commercial leaders.  The focus of this role is to expand our relationships with new clients.  The role requires collaboration and coordination with peers in Europe and India.  The Business Development Manager will have the following responsibilities:

  • Develops and expands relationships with clients new to Zifo.
  • Provides management and support for new business pipeline development, in consultation with Practice Leaders and BD Director
  • Leads proposal development and provides input into bid/no-bid decisions
  • Updates and maintains the pipeline opportunity tracker
  • Coordinates closely with technical teams in all aspects of capture and proposal processes
  • Collaborates with Marketing teams to address new leads and conference participation
  • Leads data analysis, reporting, and knowledge management to inform business development strategy and operations
  • Conducts long-term and short-term strategic research that informs the growth strategy of the assigned Practices and/or regions
  • Manages a database of partners, setting up meetings and facilitating relationships
  • Maintains new business files, resources, and tools
  • Supports training program to build the capacity of business development across the division
  • Develop and cultivate relationships with technical specialists, subject-matter experts, and professional writers to contribute to technical solution designs, reviews, and analysis of proposals and business development strategy within the practice
  • Work closely with the Practice Area Leaders to deepen Zifo’s network of potential personnel and better understand client staffing needs

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in life sciences or information technology
  • At least 5-7 years in business development roles
  • Familiarity with the Life Sciences Industry and particular challenges of a vendor and technology agnostic service provider
  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal, communication, and decision-making skills
  • Flexibility to assume a workload which frequently necessitates an adjustment of priorities
  • Ability to work and deliver under strict deadlines
  • History of successful independent and collaborative work, in individual and team environments
