Full Job Description

Prestage Foods is seeking an Accounting Manager to perform a variety of accounting and financial duties. The Accounting Manager will be responsible for maintaining financial records, reviewing general ledger accounts, reconciling cash, and various other accounting duties. They will also run accounting software programs (e.g., BMS) to process daily transactions and month end entries, such as journal entries, etc. A successful Accounting Manager should be familiar with all accounting procedures, have a flair for numbers, and be an initiative-taker. In addition, they should ensure that all of the company's daily, monthly, and annual accounting needs are met. Primary responsibilities may include the following, among others:

Responsibilities

  • Post transactions and categorize records in the general ledger (e.g., by assets, liabilities, and expenses)
  • Create and post various journal entries
  • Reconcile cash to bank accounts when needed
  • Prepare documents and assist with audits
  • Conduct month-end and year-end close
  • Reconcile all general ledger accounts
  • Perform recordkeeping and prepare financial reports
  • Keep informed of regulatory requirements and best practices in accounting
  • Prepare and review weekly and monthly financial statements
  • Maintain and reconcile various spreadsheets

Requirements

  • Manage and maintain sensitive information in confidential and meticulous manner
  • Work independently and well organized
  • Familiarity with bookkeeping and accounting procedures
  • Competency in MS Office, databases, and accounting software
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Firsthand experience with spreadsheets, general ledger accounts, and financial reports
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Supervisory or leadership experience in a financial discipline
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or comparable experience
