Highways & Skyways of NC is a leading trucking company based in Greensboro, North Carolina, managing a fleet of approximately 60 trucks. The Accounting Billing Clerk will provide vital support to the Accounts Payable and Receivable Department. This role is responsible for a variety of accounting duties including billing, invoicing, filing, collections, and general administrative support to ensure smooth and efficient departmental operations.

 

Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

  • Billing and Invoicing:
    • Prepare, audit and submit various billing statements and invoices for all divisions.
    • Process standard, summary and consolidated billing.
    • Perform manual entries into accounting software.
  • Filing and Documentation:
    • Maintain and organize filing systems for financial documents.
    • Scan and upload invoices to various customer portals.
    • Match backup paperwork with delivery documents and send to customers.
  • Collections and Financial Support:
    • Assist in collections activities.
    • Provide backup support for invoicing and settlements.
    • Process financial packets and provide general financial support as needed.
  • General Administrative Support:
    • Assist with new hire orientation and training for financial processes.
    • Support general administrative duties within the department as required.
    • Standard office environment with occasional requirements to assist in other departments or roles as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Education and Experience:
    • High school diploma or equivalent; associate’s degree in accounting, business administration, or related field preferred.
    • Proven experience in an accounting role within an accounting department.
  • Skills and Competencies:
    • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
    • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Proficient in accounting software such as QuickBooks and/or Great Plains.
    • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information.
    • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
