Full Job Description
Chimera Securities is a proprietary trading firm with 100+ traders and an advanced, in-house developed stock trading system called Blink. As a Trading Software Support Specialist at Chimera, you will be responsible for learning the ins and outs of Blink in order to provide effective front-end support to the Firm’s traders. The ideal candidate has experience, either as a trader or in a support role, with advanced equities trading software (such as Lightspeed, Das, Sterling, etc.).
We are looking for a self-starter who is eager to progress, has sound technical knowledge, and exceptional communication skills.
Please note this position will NOT segue into a trading role.
Responsibilities:
- First- and second-level Blink software support for the Firm’s traders and staff
- Software orientation for new traders (e.g. creating market scanners, reviewing order commands, optimizing charts, etc.)
- EMBY administration (media recording, editing, posting, etc.)
- Basic desktop PC support and troubleshooting
This position requires its responsibilities to be carried out with minimal supervision. A successful Specialist will be able to prioritize multiple support issues while remaining calm under pressure. Occasional off-hours support for project-based work may be required.

- Bachelor’s degree
- General understanding of equities trading/equities markets
- Knowledge of trading lingo and mechanics
- Strong interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to balance competing priorities under pressure
- Willingness and desire to advance technical skills
- Team success-oriented attitude and positive demeanor
- Self-starter with logical problem solving and critical thinking abilities
Preferred/Optional Skillset
- Prior experience as a trader or in a trading support role strongly preferred
- In-depth knowledge of advanced trading software functionality
- Proprietary/Retail brokerage operations experience
- Windows Server / Linux System Administration
- OpenVPN, SonicWall GVC or Fortinet firewalls
- Cisco switch administration
- Scripting and automation (preferably with Python and/or PowerShell)
