Full Job Description
We are looking for a diligent Staff Accountant to join our Business Office. The Staff Accountant’s responsibilities include maintaining financial records and reports, performing account reconciliations, assisting with budget and close processes. The Staff Accountant will also be assisting the Controller as needed and respond to information requests by management. To be successful as the Staff Accountant, the candidate should be able to accurately maintain a general ledger and ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). An outstanding Staff Accountant should also have excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
Examples of Duties:
General Ledger and Financial Activities
- Reconciles all cash and investment accounts monthly
- Records daily cash activity and reconciles daily
- Reconciles student loan activity to ECSI (outside billing agency)
- Prepares cash forecasting
- Reconciles credit card a/p accounts
- Assists with ad-hoc reporting as needing for audits and monthly reporting

Requirements
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong accounting and treasury knowledge
- Strong computer skills with knowledge of Excel spreadsheets and Word
- Strong analytical skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Ability to work well independently and with others
Acceptable Training and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
- Minimum 1-3 years’ experience with accounting/general ledger work
- Treasury experience preferred
Benefits
Pay: $55,000 - $60,000 per year
