Our consistent, organic growth plus a recent $70M investment has accelerated the expansion of our fantastic team and we are currently seeking to add a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to the team at our headquarters in Commack, NY.
What you will do:
Financial Reporting
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with US GAAP.
- Ensure the timely and accurate closing of accounting periods in Sage Intacct.
- Perform variance analysis and explain differences between actual and forecasted financials.
- Reconcile complex accounts, including revenue recognition, deferred revenue, and subscription billing.
- Assist with consolidations and intercompany accounting.
Audit and Compliance
- Coordinate with external auditors for the annual financial statement audit, ensuring that all requests are met timely and accurately.
- Prepare audit schedules, supporting documentation, and financial analyses as required.
- Assist with implementing, maintaining, and monitoring internal controls over financial reporting, particularly around revenue recognition and expense management.
Revenue Recognition (ASC 606)
- Oversee and ensure proper revenue recognition, especially for subscription-based services and multi-element arrangements, in accordance with ASC 606.
- Manage deferred revenue and work closely with sales, billing, and operations teams to ensure correct revenue treatment.
Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable
- Supervise the AP & AR processes, including approvals, vendor management, and payment processing.
- Monitor aged receivables and manage collections efforts for overdue accounts.
Cash Management
- Assist in treasury management activities, including cash forecasting, investments, and bank reconciliations.
Tax Compliance
- Ensure compliance with multi-state tax requirements
- Manage state sales and use tax filings and related reporting through an integration with Avalara
- Assist with tax filings, including preparation of requests, support, and other related schedules or information.
- Collaborate with external tax advisors for corporate tax planning and compliance.
Budgeting and Forecasting
- Assist in the compilation of data and preparation of supporting schedules/analyses for the company’s annual budget and monthly forecasts.
- Work closely with the FP&A team to ensure that financial data is accurately reflected in forecasts.
System Optimization and Process Improvements
- Maximize the efficiency of Sage Intacct by leveraging automation tools, workflows, and integrations (e.g., with billing platforms or CRMs).
- Drive process improvements to streamline the month-end close process, including automation of manual tasks.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to help refine accounting workflows for new products and services.
Collaboration and Stakeholder Communication
- Collaborate with other relevant departments, to ensure accounting considerations are integrated into business decisions.
- Present financial results and key insights to finance leadership
- Serve as a liaison between the finance team and auditors or regulatory bodies during audits or compliance reviews.
- Provide support and guidance on day-to-day accounting issues and challenges.
What you’ll need to do it:
- BS degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant.
- Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures.
- In-depth understanding of US GAAP specifically ASC606.
- Familiarity with financial accounting statements.
- Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process.
- Hands-on experience with accounting software packages. Sage Intacct a huge plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced MS excel skills.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail and the ability to translate financial data into actionable insights.

- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments.
What will make you stand out:
- Experience working at a cloud service provider, with strong familiarity with hardware and software accounting (IaaS/SaaS).
- Supply chain management or procurement experience.
- CPA certification.
- Public accounting experience at a major accounting firm.

Compensation & Benefits
We offer competitive compensation, commensurate with experience: $90-100k. We also offer outstanding benefits to simplify the lives of our employees and show them how much we appreciate their contributions. IntelliShift provides a full benefits package including company-subsidized medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as a 401K with a 4% company contribution. This is a full-time, exempt position requiring an in-office presence at our HQ in Commack, NY.
