Full Job Description
Position Description: The Payroll Specialist will have a comprehensive understanding of payroll practices, including tax withholdings, state allocations, compliance, and benefits. The Payroll Specialist will ensure accurate processing and recording of the company's weekly and bi- weekly payroll and will be instrumental in conducting various payroll- related tasks.
$55k - $65k
Requirements
- Responsible for ensuring accurate processing and recording of the weekly and bi-weekly payroll.
- Perform payroll reconciliation, identify, research, and resolve variances and payroll-related issues
ensuring corrections/adjustments are processed to correct identified errors.
- Continually improve and streamline payroll processes for optimum efficiency.
- Provide Monthly and weekly ad-hoc reporting for various internal departments.
- Assist with payroll compliance matters such as multi-state/multi-jurisdiction tax withholding, and annual
- 401(k) audits, workers, compensation, and external financial audits.
- Provide training and instructions to employees and managers on the utilization of payroll-related
systems.
- Perform weekly audits to ensure the accuracy of timecards utilizing a timekeeping system.
- Process special transactions (e.g. retroactive pay, vacation payout, garnishments and/or manual
checks, etc.).
- Research, analyze, and resolve payroll discrepancies.
- Respond to inquiries from managers and employees promptly.
- Provide backup support during staff absences.
- Complete other tasks as assigned.

Working Conditions:
- Works in an office/home environment.
- He or she may spend long amounts of time sitting down.
