General Responsibilities
- Leadership and Representation: The OT Lead is responsible for providing guidance, support, and representation for the OT department in their designated building.
- Coordination and Communication: The OT Leads are expected to relay directives from the OT Supervisor and Building Leader (Principal) to the OT/PT department. The OT leads are expected to provide effective inter and intra department communication by coordinating OT services to ensure consistency in practice and approach.
- Quality Assurance: The OT Leads will uphold and promote the highest standards of OT practice, ensuring services are delivered with excellence and integrity. They will maintain and enhance the quality of OT services provided, ensuring adherence to established standards, guidelines, and best practices.
- Current Literature and Best Practices: Stay updated with the latest research, literature, and best practices in occupational therapy. Share relevant findings and evidence-based practices with the team to ensure that the OT department utilizes current and effective methods.
- Model Treatment: Exemplify best practices in occupational therapy, setting a high standard of excellence for clinical care and professional conduct.
- Mentorship: The OT leads are expected to be experts in their chosen area of interest and provide mentorship to the department on that area. OT Leads are expected to be the point person for daily mentorship in their specific building gym to answer any questions by treating therapist that arise. Mentorship will be further executed by providing co-treatments with the treating therapist that report to them directly at least once a week.
Specific Responsibilities
- OT/PT Gym Leader in Queens
- Team Management: Oversee the OT/PT team in the Queens gym, providing support and direction.
- Scheduling: Manage the scheduling of OT services and staff shifts within the Queens gym.
- Program Implementation: Ensure that OT programs and interventions are effectively implemented and aligned with overall goals.
- Facility Oversight: Maintain the operational readiness of the OT/PT facilities in Queens, ensuring that all equipment and resources are in good condition.
1. Annual Reviews (ARs):
- Record report due dates on tracker and notify treating therapist:
- 23-24 Remaining AR Tracker.xlsx (sharepoint.com)
· Update the tracker as ARs are completed
· Review and edit ARs, alert therapist to complete corrections
· Finalize completed report
· Submit completed reports to building specific principal
· Submit completed ARs
2. Progress Marks:
· Check all progress marks for completion and accuracy
· Record errors on the appropriate tracker and contact therapists for corrections
· Update tracker when corrections have been completed
· Ensure PMs are complete quarterly at due date provided by the building leader
3. Creating/ Maintaining Data Trackers:
· Maintain the following trackers in addition to the above report trackers
o Makeup Session trackers
o Weekly productivity tracker
o Parent communication tracker
4. Supervision:
All leads will hold meetings with their direct reporting therapists 2x a week (1 discussion meeting and 1 co-treat).
1. Purchase Orders:
· Monitor inventory and report to OT supervisor when we are low on supplies
· Create/manage wish list of items
· Determine necessity of items needed and create PO to send to OT supervisor and coordinating administration
2. Hiring:
· Send applicant demo details for four potential students (age, gender, current OT goals)
· Attend new hire interviews
3. Onboarding:
· Train new staff on OT department specific policies and procedures
· This includes a school tour, going over what a typical day looks like, using Fusion, using PowerSchool, Teams chats, and OT expectations.
