Freelance Environmental/Climate Change Publicist

Our team is looking for a Freelance Environmental/Climate Change Publicist for an experiential project activating mid September in NYC during climate week. Our client is a leading non-profit organization focused on many verticals including the environment and media/journalism.

This person needs to be experienced in the environmental/climate change space with key contacts in national news space related to climate change/environmental reporting.

Day to day overview:

• Media outreach to top-tier national press
• RSVP management for NYC press event
• Client-facing reporting and comms reporting into BMF PR team
• On-site media coordination
• Vetting and proactive broadcast outreach with focus on national climate/environmental contacts
• Internal updates and calls for media updates, real-time media tracking (status of pitching, outreach, etc.)

Requirements

• Be available from July 15 to August 15th for 20 hrs per month
• Minimum 5 years experience
• Must have experience working with spokespersons and broadcast
• Nice to have: Experience in non-profit sector
