Director of Finance

Overview:

For over 125 years, Calvary Hospital and Calvary @Home located in the Bronx, New York has been dedicated to the palliative care of advanced cancer and other terminally ill patients and their families. Through a caring, compassionate, philosophy of non-abandonment, the hospice provides a full spectrum of palliative services, including emotional, spiritual, and physical care. Responsibilities:

Under the general direction of the Chief Financial Officer, the Director of Finance is primarily responsible for the fiscal, accounting, reporting and control functions.  Also responsible for the maintenance of records and  procedures to adequately safeguard the assets of the Hospital.

Areas of Responsibilities:

• Patient Accounting
• General Accounting
• Payroll/Accounts Payable
• Budget/Reimbursement

Requirements

Qualifications:

• Five to seven years accounting experience required.  A minimum of three years experience in a supervisory capacity; as well as two years of directly related experience in the hospital field or in the public accounting field performing audits for a hospital or intermediary.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as analytical ability.
• Ability to identify problems and recommend solutions.
• Exhibits an ability and attitude relative to the spirit of caring and tradition at Calvary Hospital as required by specific job duties and functions.

Education:

• Bachelor of Business Administration degree with major in Accounting required.  Master’s degree in Business Administration desirable.
• Certified Public Accountant required.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $200,000 - $250,000 annually
