Role & Responsibilities
Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven sales leader to head our business development initiaitves. In this role, you will be primarily responsible for generating new business opportunities, closing deals, and building long-lasting client relationships. You'll work closely with the marketing team to align on strategic initiatives, campaigns, and content that drive lead generation and conversions. Leveraging your professional network and industry connections will be key to identifying and engaging high-value prospects.
- Drive New Business Development
- Identify, prospect, and engage new business opportunities through outbound efforts, networking, and leveraging existing relationships.
- Use your industry connections and strategic outreach to generate qualified leads and initiate conversations with potential clients.
- Close new business by presenting tailored solutions and value propositions, negotiating terms, and finalizing contracts.
- Align with Marketing Team
- Collaborate with marketing to ensure alignment of sales and marketing strategies, including content creation, campaigns, and lead nurturing efforts.
- Provide feedback on customer insights and market trends to support the development of targeted marketing materials.
- Utilize marketing assets and tools to enhance your outreach and increase lead conversion.
- Leverage Professional Network & Industry Relationships
- Tap into your network of industry contacts to generate new leads and build credibility in target markets.
- Attend networking events, industry conferences, and business gatherings to identify and foster relationships with prospective clients.
- Pipeline & Account Management
- Manage and nurture your sales pipeline from lead generation to deal closure, ensuring consistent follow-up and timely communication.
- Maintain CRM records to track progress, opportunities, and key milestones for each deal.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth onboarding and handoff of new clients.
- Market Intelligence & Reporting
- Conduct market research and analysis to identify trends, competitive landscape, and emerging opportunities.
- Report on sales activities, forecasts, and key performance metrics to leadership.
- Relationship Building & Client Retention
- Establish and maintain strong, long-term relationships with new clients to foster loyalty and repeat business.
- Work closely with client success and service teams to ensure customer satisfaction and identify upsell or cross-sell opportunities.
Requirements

Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in sales, with at least 2 years in a sales leadership role, preferably within the eCommerce or digital agency industry.
- Proven track record of driving revenue growth and meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing sales team.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to effectively negotiate and close deals.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and implement sales plans that align with business goals and objectives.
- Experience with CRM systems (e.g. HubSpot) and data analysis tools.
- Experience in the Shopify space.
