SciTec has an immediate opportunity for a talented Payroll Specialist
Responsibilities
- Accurately enters, maintains, and processes information in payroll systems
- Reconciles ADP payroll data with Costpoint Accounting System
- Responsible for all tasks necessary to accomplish the organization’s multi-state payroll processing objectives with a high degree of confidentiality
- Ensures proper payroll deductions for taxes, benefits, and other deductions
- Implements automation of accounting operations
- Ensures bi-weekly multi-state payroll for 400+ employees is accurate, on time, and compliant with regulations
- Works with HR to properly administer, process, and pay all employee leavesofabsence
- Administers and processes benefit and status changes from a payroll perspective
- Assists in the development and maintenance of payroll policies and procedures
- Reviews and reconciles quarterly payroll tax reports
- Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by keeping advised of current and new legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions
- Reconciles payroll accounts every payroll to ensure accuracy of all payments and deductions
- Prepares bi-weekly general ledger payroll entries and monthly accruals
- Manages Company HSA and FSA plan funding and compliance
- Resolves payroll discrepancies and irregularities
- Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Associate’s Degree in Accounting or relevant field with accounting courses
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- At least 4 years of progressive experience preparing and processing multi-state payrolls of over 200 employees
- Experience with ADP Workforce Now
- Thorough knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principals
- Solid understanding of Federal and State wage and hour laws including payroll, taxes, withholding, deductions
- Expert proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office software
- Strong ability to multi-task and work under pressure
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
- Detail oriented with ability to handle highly confidential and sensitive information with a high level of discretion
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Experience working with Costpoint software preferred
- Experience working with a Government contractor preferred

The pay range for this position is $73,000 - $88,000 / year. SciTec considers several factors when extending an offer of employment, including but not limited to the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, education/training, and key skills. This is not a guarantee of compensation.
