Full Job Description
Concord Group Insurance in consistently looking to add to our structured training program that incorporates a variety of professional development opportunities! This includes hands-on training, industry specific coursework, mentoring, and job shadowing to gain a strong foundation of industry knowledge to become a strong team member in the department you join. Our trainee program starts in one of our four major departments; Underwriting, Claims, Customer Service and IT.

Core Responsibilities
Underwriting
- Utilize underwriting criteria to evaluate individual risk of polices including: physical property evaluations, driving records, financial ratings, and loss experience
- Interact with peers, independent agency representatives, and vendors to collect risk information, explain underwriting policies and procedures, and effectively negotiate coverage terms and conditions
- Develop relationships with internal and external stakeholders and business partners
Claims
- Investigate, evaluate, and settle entry-level insurance claims
- Study insurance policies, endorsements, and forms to develop foundational product knowledge
- Develop claim negotiation and settlement skills
- Meet and communicate with claimants, legal counsel, and third parties
Customer Service
- Develop and maintain knowledge of our products, systems, and services
- Learn how to handle information relating to policies including bills, payments, and coverages
- Respond to inbound calls, emails and chats, providing end-to-end resolution for all types of inquiries
Information Technology
- Develop technical specifications for system changes and present specifications and code for peer review
- Work with Integration and Business Services to interface with external application services
- Work with analysts to provide support of the Policy Administration System including inspecting policy data, correcting data, and providing manuscript changes when required
- Assist in application testing
Requirements
- Associate’s degree required; bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent industry exposure/experience
- Holding or pursuing industry licenses, designations, and certificates is a plus
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Thrive in a team-oriented environment
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to succeed with key training milestones
- Apply basic problem resolution skills and effective interpersonal skills
- Read, interpret, and respond to documents such as insurance policies, procedure manuals, and legal documents at a foundational level
- Accurately solve mathematical problems, including basic geometry (area and volume) and financial statements (such as accuracy in sums and unit costs)
