Continental Disc Corporation, LLC (“CDC”) designs and manufactures safety-critical products that protect pressure-containing vessels from catastrophic failure. CDC is headquartered in Liberty, Missouri (outside Kansas City), and has manufacturing operations in Houston, Texas, and Ahmedabad, India with additional sales offices in India, the Netherlands and China. The Sales Project Manager is a technical role that functions within the Americas sales team and provides support for large and highly important opportunities involving new rupture disc installations through sales representatives, direct channels and collaboratively with global sales channels as needed. The Sales Project Manager is a hybrid role that includes outside sales and inside sales responsibilities, including EPC and customer visits, project sales funnel management, project bidding and project order leadership from early identification through the final invoice.
Requirements
- Work with the outside sales team to identify target project opportunities and position the CDC/LaMot brands to participate in identified projects in the earliest possible project stages.
- Collaborate with regional sales managers to foster direct and rep-owned working relationships at EPC firms involved with rupture disc solution designs, specification and/or procurement.
- Take an ownership role in project opportunities that flows directly through the CDC sales team and collaborate with engaged representative resources to produce competitive bid packages that position CDC to win while capturing the highest available margin rates.
- Lead inside project team resources to ensure high levels of success in identification, participation and win rates of opportunities with new rupture disc installations.
- Review inquiry packages. Identify and understand commercial and technical requirements of the inquiry.
- Work with the local representative and regional sales management to develop a complete proposal package including commercial comments, sizing, selection, all testing, data and material requirements.
- Work closely with quality, engineering, planning, purchasing / procurement, manufacturing, finance and legal to ensure all requirements are identified and understood. Send various specifications to the responsible functional areas for review and comments ensuring quotations are submitted in the timeframe required by our customer.
- Establish and attend required Project meetings to review current project quotes and call inquiry review meeting(s) as required to ensure all potential issues are identified and addressed prior to quotation submittal if the inquiry cannot wait for the next weekly meeting.
- Review purchase order requirements and proposal. Work with the appropriate resources to clarify and correct all discrepancies between the purchase order and the quotation.
- Coordinate contract negotiation efforts with CDC legal and sales leadership to find a common-ground terms package that allows CDC to win project bids.
- Work with Inside Sales resources to create bid packages and documentation packets that are accurate, competitive and places CDC in a winning position with acceptable margin levels.
- Review and manage all changes to the purchase order.
- Ensure all project requirements are met including submittal drawings, Quality documents, instruction manuals, production schedules, spare parts lists etc.
Technical / Function Specific:
- Working knowledge of computers sufficient to successfully use company ERP system, CRM System, Microsoft Office product families

Physical Requirements:
- Sufficient manual dexterity to successfully use a computer and telephone.
- Some travel may be required to assist in negotiations and / or pre-manufacturing meetings.
- Ability to sit for extended periods of time, up to 8 hours per day, though possibly more.
- Sometimes required to stand and/or walk, up to 1 hour per day, and make occasional trips from the office area to the manufacturing area.
- Ability to wear all required personal protective equipment when in the manufacturing area, including, but not limited to, safety glasses and safety shoes.

Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in a technical or engineering discipline or 5 years sales experience with knowledge of pressure / vacuum relief products.
Experience: 2 years sales experience in a company or industry that sells through manufacturers’ representatives; experience with the sale of pressure relief products is preferred.
