Full Job Description
A partner organization is seeking a Business Loan Assistant II in Kansas City, MO. The Business Loan Assistant II provides administrative support and exceptional service to the Banking team while managing a business loan portfolio. This role involves referring prospective business and individual clients to internal business partners and developing long-term business relationships with clients.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain favorable relationships with current clients.
- Identify and capture opportunities to cross-sell additional loan and bank products.
- Assist in the sales proposal process, accompanying the Portfolio Manager and Bankers on client and prospect calls.
- Monitor and input accurate data into the CRM and/or loan workflow system.
- Identify and input information needed to onboard new clients and credit facility opportunities.
- Collect and review due diligence items necessary for underwriting and closing new credit facilities.
- Upload required due diligence items, financial documents, and loan documents to appropriate databases.
- Assist Bankers in reviewing attorney-prepared loan documents.
- Facilitate the closing of credit facilities by gathering required documents and compliance-related documentation.
- Coordinate with Portfolio Managers and Credit Underwriters in obtaining and reviewing updated financial information.
- Track, collect, and clear post-closing exception items.
- Monitor upcoming and past due material exceptions and financial covenants.
- Manage the loan and relationship renewal and review process to ensure timely renewals.
- Assist clients with advances and pay downs on committed loan facilities.
- Review and process draw request packets.
- Monitor daily overdrafts and past due payments, coordinating resolutions.
- Serve as a subject matter expert and resource for other Business Loan Assistants.
- Assist in training new Business Loan Assistants.
- Provide exceptional service to internal and external clients.
- Utilize technology to collect, analyze, and report critical information.
- Communicate effectively across all levels within the organization.
- Maintain positive relationships with employees, clients, and vendors.
- Represent the organization and Commercial Banking team professionally.
- Complete assignments in a timely and efficient manner, organizing and prioritizing work.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to organizational policies, laws, and regulations.
- Ensure reliable and predictable onsite attendance.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of related work experience.
- Proven ability to review and understand loan documentation.
- Knowledge of commercial banking products and services, including credit analysis and underwriting.
- Understanding of organizational documents and identification of signers.
- Salesforce/nCino experience preferred.
- Effective communication skills with a results-oriented mindset.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build long-term relationships.
- Demonstrated financial acumen and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in a fast-paced service-oriented role, preferably in a commercial banking environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, or Economics preferred, or equivalent work experience.
