We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Account Executive to join our team. The AE will play a crucial role in driving the growth and success of PenPath and is responsible for identifying, prospecting, and closing new business opportunities with e-commerce companies looking to enhance their data-driven decision-making processes. By effectively communicating the value proposition of our analytics platform, this role will build strong relationships with prospective customers and ultimately drive revenue growth for the company. The ideal candidate should have a proven track record of exceeding sales targets, excellent communication and negotiation skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Essential Functions

  • Identify and research potential customers within the e-commerce industry. Utilize various channels such as cold calling, email outreach, social selling, and networking to generate leads and build a robust pipeline of opportunities.
  • Understand the unique needs and pain points of prospective customers and articulate how PenPath can address those needs and deliver value. Conduct thorough needs assessments and product demos to showcase the capabilities of our platform.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with key decision-makers and influencers within prospective customer organizations. Act as a trusted advisor by providing insights and recommendations tailored to each customer’s specific challenges and goals.
  • Lead the negotiation process, addressing objections, and overcoming obstacles to successfully close new business opportunities.
  • Track detailed scope of engagement, and when applicable, work with the potential customers to estimate scope change/additions and execute change order(s).
  • Collaborate with Customer Success to ensure a seamless transition from sale to implementation.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all sales activities and opportunities in CRM software. Continuously monitor and manage the sales pipeline to ensure timely follow-up and progression of deals through the sales cycle.
  • Provide regular reports and updates to management on sales performance and forecasts.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Marketing, Dev, and Customer Success to ensure customer satisfaction and identify growth opportunities.
  • Contribute to the development of practices, templates, policies, tools, and partnerships aimed at enhancing and advancing the team's capabilities.
  • Conduct market research to stay updated on industry trends and the competitive landscape.
  • Attend industry events and conferences to build networks and generate leads.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 3+ years Proven track record of success in B2B sales, preferably within the technology or SaaS industry.
  • Experience selling to e-commerce companies is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of the digital marketing space and basic principles of digital marketing.
  • Strong understanding of sales principles and techniques, including prospecting, consultative selling, and negotiation.
  • Experience building ROI models to quantify partnership value.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Experience in working with complex, multi-divisional, multi-geographical prospective customers.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to create structure in ambiguous situations and design effective processes.
  • Ability to craft emails that are appropriate for prospecting, nurturing, and closing sales.
  • Demonstrated ability to work and communicate with all levels of the staff and management both as a self-starter and in a team environment.
  • Self-motivated and results-oriented, with a demonstrated ability to meet and exceed sales targets with minimal supervision.
  • Experience working CRM software and sales tools including Active Campaign and Apollo, preferred.
  • Proficiency in Google Suite.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or related field.
