Full Job Description
The Warehouse General Manager is responsible for the overall success of all aspects of the DC. The GM oversees all operations of the Distribution Center, including managing a productive safety culture, inbound and outbound operations, the physical warehouse, transportation, and inventory integrity. The Warehouse GM develops strategies and objectives to maximize productivity and leverage expenses for the company.

- Manages all aspects of the DC’s financial, operational, process and service-related objectives to drive continuous improvement and efficiency gains to reduce overall operational expenses.
- Manages communication with outsourcing partners, as relates to his/her facility.
- Training and Development of the team is essential
- Participates in strategic and business process improvement projects for the distribution network
- Maintains receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing operational policies and procedures,
- Safeguards warehouse operations and contents by establishing and monitoring security procedures and protocols
- Controls inventory levels by conducting physical counts; reconciling with data storage system
- Receives and verifies accuracy of incoming and outgoing shipments
- Completes warehouse operational requirements by coordinating resource assignments with subcontractor partners. This includes following up on work results.
- Analyzes order reports to determine shipping and reorder requirements
- Adheres to all government and customer compliance requirements
- Maintains OSHA certifications
- Keeps in communication with Customer Service to ensure that returns are processed in a timely manner and shipped back to the vendor.
- Other job duties as required, defined by the Director of Operations.

- Knowledge of materials, warehouse processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective distribution of goods
- Strong leadership, organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently in a team-oriented environment
- Ability to manage priorities and coordinate multiple projects while consistently meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to collaborate with team members and individuals to identify, communicate, and provide process improvement solutions for the organization.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in a relative field or equivalent work experience
- 5+ years of previous warehouse or general labor experience preferred
- Valid and current forklift certification is a plus
- Hazmat certification is a plus would remove
- Experience with conveyance and innovation technology (ASRS and others) is a plus
- Experience with ISO 90001 certified facility and associated standards
- Experience with government contracts and compliance is a plus
COMPUTER SKILLS
- Knowledge of ERP systems, RF Smart WMS, UPS World Ship, Fed Ex Ship Manager and Endicia Dazzle are a plus.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Flexibility with hours - ability to work varied hours, days, night, and weekends as business dictates
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Heated, non-air conditioned, warehouse with concrete flooring.
