Role Summary:
Dojo Five is looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to drive growth and forge partnerships in the embedded systems and software development industry. As a Business Development Manager, you will lead initiatives to expand our client base, identify new market opportunities, and build long-term relationships with key industry players. This role requires a strategic mindset, an entrepreneurial spirit, and a deep understanding of embedded software development and R&D services. You will play a crucial role in positioning Dojo Five as the go-to partner for innovative embedded development solutions, working closely with senior leadership and engineering teams to achieve sales and growth objectives.
Responsibilities:
- Identify Growth Opportunities: Research and analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitive offerings to uncover new business opportunities.
- Develop Strategic Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with prospective clients, partners, and stakeholders in the embedded systems industry.
- Sales & Revenue Generation: Drive revenue growth by leading business development efforts, managing the sales pipeline, and closing deals with new and existing clients.
- Proposal Development: Collaborate with technical teams to develop compelling proposals and service offerings that address client needs.
- Lead Generation & Networking: Attend industry events, conferences, and trade shows to represent Dojo Five and generate high-quality leads.
- Client Needs Assessment: Understand client challenges and translate them into tailored service offerings, ensuring a high level of client satisfaction.
- Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with the marketing, engineering, and operations teams to align on growth strategies and project delivery.
- Reporting & Forecasting: Provide accurate and timely reports on business development activities, including sales forecasts, pipeline management, and market intelligence.
Requirements
- Experience: 5+ years of proven experience in business development, sales, or account management, preferably in the embedded systems or software development space.
- Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of embedded software development, R&D services, and the needs of high-tech industries.
- Proven Track Record: Demonstrated success in developing new business, managing client relationships, and achieving sales targets.
- Strategic Mindset: Ability to think critically and strategically, identifying opportunities and delivering growth plans in a dynamic, technology-driven environment.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage C-level executives, technical leaders, and industry stakeholders.
- Technical Acumen: Ability to understand and discuss complex technical concepts with engineering teams and clients.
- Self-Starter: Highly motivated, entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to work independently and proactively.
- Networking: Proven ability to build networks within the embedded development ecosystem and related industries.
- Travel: Willingness to travel occasionally for client meetings, conferences, and industry events.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
