The Specifics of the Accountant Role:

As the Accountant, you'll report to the Co-Owner, who runs the Finance Team, and the Controller, work alongside the Finance Team, as well as manage the deliverables accordingly.

·         Oversee the daily entry of all transactions into QuickBooks Online, including A/P, A/R, CC transactions, bank transactions, etc.

·         Reconcile all accounts including credit cards and bank accounts

·         Work with Controller on month & year-end process to close books in a timely manner

·         Monitor the accounting email address for any incoming invoices or orders

·         Compile and run monthly construction draw cycles via cloud-based draw software (Adaptive)

·         Work with the Finance Team to establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies, and principles

·         Monitor and analyze all accounting data and produce financial reports and statements for weekly and monthly meetings

·         Oversee and present the management team with a weekly financial review

·         Process company payroll and employee mileage reporting (Gusto), including some commission payments to individual team members

·         Manage purchases from our in-house interior design and project management team as needed

·         Perform ad hoc analysis and projects as requested

·         Continually improve systems and processes to gain efficiencies and keep up with changing accounting practices

·         Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices

·         Oversee and process MN and WI Sales & Use Tax Filings

·         Make sure office policies are adhered to and reflect our company’s high standards by managing multiple projects and tasks

·         Employee Health Insurance Administration

·         HR file maintenance/compliance

·         401k plan compliance

·         Employee onboarding

·         Maintaining subcontractor certificates of insurance

Requirements

Successful Accountant Candidate will have:

·         Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent

·         3+ years of progressive accounting and/or bookkeeping experience

·         Strong skills in QuickBooks Online and MS Office Suite

·         Strong communication skills

·         Proven knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, laws and regulations

·         High attention to detail and accuracy

·         Ability to work independently with little supervision and self-driven to meet deadlines

·         Motivation and drive to advance within a growing company

·         Strong desire to work within a company that values company culture, as well as individual and team performance

·         Experience with procurement of various products and tracking them through the life cycle to client delivery

·         Experience with construction accounting and construction draw processing preferred

·         Experience Adaptive draw software experience preferred, but not required
