A dynamic financial institution is seeking an experienced leader to join their team as the Vice President of Accounting & Finance. This role is essential to the organization’s financial leadership team, responsible for overseeing accounting, financial reporting, and strategic financial planning. The VP will collaborate closely with the EVP/Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to develop and implement long-term financial strategies that align with the company's goals and support growth initiatives.
Position Overview:
The Vice President of Accounting & Finance will lead all aspects of finance and accounting operations, including financial statement preparation, balance sheet management, liquidity, and strategic financial planning. This position ensures the accuracy and integrity of financial information and provides strategic guidance to advance the organization's financial objectives. The starting annual rate for this role is $129,300, with potential increases based on relevant experience and transferable skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead all finance and accounting operations, including financial reporting, general ledger reconciliations, CECL calculations, budgeting, forecasting, and tax returns.
- Collaborate with the CFO and executive team to develop and implement long-term financial strategies.
- Oversee functions such as reporting, budgeting, credit risk, tax, and liquidity management.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to the accounting and finance team.
- Manage cash flow, liquidity, and working capital to support operational and strategic investments.
- Direct the monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close processes.
- Serve on the Asset Liability Management Committee, managing interest rate risk functions.
- Prepare financial profitability models for new products/services and financial center expansions.
- Identify continuous improvement opportunities within financial processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 7-10 years of progressively responsible financial experience, preferably within complex organizations.
- Strong background in asset/liability management, liquidity management, budgeting, and financial analysis.
- Proven leadership experience in developing high-performing teams.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across all levels.
- Strategic thinking and strong business acumen.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in financial institutions.
- Proficiency with Profitstar’s financial model or similar software.
- Experience in mortgage sales in the secondary market.
- CPA or MBA qualifications.
