Ubiquiti Network Engineer

We are looking for a Network Engineer to support our growing services department by helping our customers with Ubiquiti related network projects.

We're a fast growing startup serving thousands of really cool customers all around the world with interesting network projects, mostly Ubiquiti related but sometimes other vendor equipment is involved too.

About 47% of our customers are based in the US but the rest are all over.

We all work from home, with employees located in USA, UK, India, and Bangladesh. We primarily coordinate with the team over Slack, and assist our customers through live chat, phone, screen share and occasionally travel for on-site projects as needed.

We're looking for someone who is a huge Ubiquiti fan and in particular knows their way around UniFi and UISP. A lot of the work involves configuring VLANs, VPN connections, wireless point-to-point links, or troubleshooting WiFi coverage and signal issues.

Bonus points if you like Linux, in particular Debian/Ubuntu. We're currently managing over ~3,000 VPS instances which each run UniFi, UISP, or Omada software.

Requirements

• Huge Ubiquiti fan
• Be a walking encyclopedia for all things Ubiquiti, from advanced UniFi troubleshooting, to UISP recommendations of radios based on existing knowledge
• You're comfortable working from home with Slack as the primary communication method with your remote team
• You're good working in a customer facing role where communication is just as important as the work being done
• You're confident you can design, install, and troubleshoot networks involving Ubiquiti and other vendor equipment
• US candidates preferred, we travel for projects in the US sometimes
• US business working hours required, for example any 8 hour window within 9am-8pm EST M-F
• Optional: you're interested in leading a team of network engineers as we continue to grow our services operation
